''Well,-''

Kat slapped her arms against her sides as she turned around from the moving truck.

It was the day. The first day of summer vacation and the last the group will her see of Katherine William.

''I guess this is the part where we sound like a bunch of-''

''Wussies,'' Clay interjects. He looks around with caution. ''Let's keep this pg.''

A brow jumped on Devin's forehead as she shook her head. ''I can't believe the school year ended faster than we thought.''

Jeff wraps an arm around her shoulders and pulls her in close to his side. ''We still have the best memories.''

Hannah smiles. ''Remember the first time we almost could of had lunch together.''

Jeff jerks his head back. ''What do you mean almost?''

Kat back slapped his clothes chest and gaped at him from the sudden realization of the memory. ''You kicked me out of the table because you was afraid I'd spill the beans about Devin's surprises.''

''Were you?'' Clay questions with narrowed eyes.

Her voice was small as she mumbles, ''No,'' She looks up with a sly smirk. ''It was just girl talk.''

''Uh huh,'' Jeff nods, finding this as entertaining as everyone else.

''Kat!'' Her father calls, alarming lots of heads to turn towards the driver side of the truck. ''We gotta go.''

Kat turns back around and waves him off. ''Alright, everybody. Group hug. Come on.''

They couldn't help but chuckle as they closed in the space on one another, wrapping their arms around the person next to them and squeezing them tight.

They stood in silence. This was really their last moment as one whole squad. They were going to enter their junior year without Kat, the most wildest person of the group.

Things were changing. They were already shifting.

It's all going to be different.

''I don't know why,'' Devin breathes. They were still in a group hug. ''But every goodbye seems to be harder than the last.''

''Devin,'' Kat groans. ''I told you, no wussie moment!''

Hannah pulls away from the hug, creating some sort of domino effect because one by one they depart as well.
