''Did you even see last nights episode of The Walking Dead?''

Zach Dempsey rolls his eyes as he continued to swap his afternoon books for his morning books that Monday morning at his locker.

''That show has over five seasons now,'' He shakes his head. ''Why hasn't it gone off of the air yet?''

Devin clicks her teeth as she's leaned against the set of lockers next to him. ''Why haven't they ended Supernatural, Zachery?''

''Hey,'' He shoots her a pointed look that caused her to laugh. ''We don't go there.''

Devin's laughter began to dial down at the sight of Jeffery Atkins and Clay Jensen passing by.

The Latino was in the middle of a sentence when speaking to an intrigued Clay before he caught a glimpse of Devin. His words were cut short just so he could smile and utter a confident, ''Hey.''

''Hi,'' She mumbles, smiling just as brightly as he did.

Jeff resumed into his conversation but Devin didn't. In fact, she eyed him until he reached a corner that they both turned to.

''Earth to Devin!'' Zach exclaims close in her ear.

She jumps and turns to him. While laughing at her alerted features, she slapped his arm hard enough to hear throughout the morning rush chaos.

''Ow!'' He laughs throughout his cry. ''Jesus, Dev.''

She shrugs her shoulders simply, her lips flattened into a straight line as she held onto the straps of her book bag. ''You had it coming.''

Zach was rubbing his arm when stammering, ''So, uh,'' He juts his jaw up the hallway, where Jeff Atkins and Clay Jensen disappeared too. ''What was all that about?''

She pursed her lips and folds her arms across her chest. ''Nothing, really. We finally had a conversation.''

His eyes blew wide. ''Wow. On a scale from one to ten, how civil was it, really?''

''Zero.''

He scoffs while slamming his locker shut. ''Doesn't look like it.''

The bell rings just when Devin furrows her brows at him. ''What?''

He shakes his head and proceeds his way down the hallway with Devin by his side.
