''Clay!''
Though his awkward stance gave away that he'd much rather be at home than to be at Sheri Holland's house for her New Year's party, the smile brightening up his features indicates he was touched he had friends like Devin and Jeff who actually enjoyed his presence, never wanting to leave him out on anything.
''Hey, guys,'' He softly greets.
''Do you want a drink?'' Devin offers. He grew hesitant. He did have a curfew, which was ten minutes after midnight.
''Uh, sure,'' He nods his head. ''Just one.''
''Come on,'' She leads, pushing herself off of the couch. She held her drink in one hand and started walking through the crowd, the boys following close behind her.
''Any resolutions?'' Jeff asks the two on their way to the kitchen.
Clay and Devin scoff in unison.
''I'm gonna walk on the moon,'' Clay remarks.
Just as her hand found the handle to the refrigerator, she turns to Clay with a smirk. ''I'm gonna end world hunger.''
Jeff laughs while shaking his head.
Devin finally retrieves a closed bottle of beer from the inside the fridge and slides it against the island, passing it to Clay while closing the door.
''These friends, keep talking way too much!''
''Oh,'' Devin licks her lips and reaches into her pockets to pull out the sticky piece of paper that had the rest of the song lyric on it. ''Saying I, should give you up!''
Chelsea Cunnings appeared into the kitchen with furrowed brows. She starts pointing a finger around Devin's area and asks, ''Who sang that?''
''Can't hear them no-''
Chelsea's feature's lit up with a gasp as she sings along with Devin, ''Cause, I, I've been there all night! I've been there all day! And boy, got me walking side to side!''
Jeff nearly spits up his drink at the sight of his girlfriend singing horribly along with Chelsea.
''What the hell is this?'' Clay chuckles.
''Remember that piece of paper, you needed to take at the door?''
