I didn't know what to do.

Why does this keep happening to me? Why me? I thought that if I stayed completely still, nothing would happen.

And nothing happened.

Not until I got a message from Royce Jr. I didn't even move because I was afraid that a single sound would cause the thing up there to break through the floor and come get me.

I was completely still.

There was no sound.

Then my phone dinged.

Loudly.

The person up there started banging the floor.

bang.

Bang.

Bang.

BANG!

BANG!!

BANG!!

It was getting louder with every bang. My heart stopped completely and the fear left me paralyzed and crying because we were in the middle of nowhere! WHO WAS GOING TO COME INSIDE A POLICE PROTECTED HOUSE AND TERRORIZE ME LIKE THAT?!

The bangs grew louder and I didn't know what to do. So naturally I screamed!

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

It stopped.

The footsteps were fast-walking away until they couldn't be heard anymore.

I was under my blanket when someone barged into my room; still shaking like crazy.

"Lexi! Are you ok?" I could feel someone shaking me.

I uncovered the blanket, my face tear stained.

"There was someone in the attic." I said between sobs. "They heard my phone notification and they just started banging up there." I continued, pointing to the general place I believe the bangs came from; my hands shaking.

"I'll go check it out stay right here." Said Sebastian as he made his way out my door.

"NO! Wait! Please don't leave me! Please..." I cried, rocking myself to hide my trembling body.

"Hey. Hey, its ok! It's ok. I'm not gonna go anywhere. I promise. I promise. It's ok. I'm here. I'm here...." He reassured me, stroking my hair.

He kept rocking me until I fell asleep; dreaming of the worst.

In my dream, I was walking in a huge dark house; it was dark in all directions. The longer I walked, the more my night vision was accustomed and I could see that I was in an old, battered house; nothing remotely close to the beautiful mansion we were currently in.

I was in a large room with an old and tattered rocking chair which happens to be rocking by itself. I slowly walked towards it. I reached out my hand to stop it from moving, but an unseen thing reached out for my hand. I tried to scream but nothing came out! I yanked my hands from it, and it left its handprint; burned on my wrist. I heard loud and heavy footprints coming from straight behind me and I literally froze. I couldn't move. My breath was hitched in my throat.

The footsteps stopped and I could feel someone breathing down my neck. It wasn't warm like a normal human's breathe; no. It was ice cold and it reeked of dying flesh. I was too scared to even turn around, so I just stayed glued to my position; heart hammering against my rib cage. The creature, whatever it is, continued to breath nasty smells down my neck and I was becoming even more nauseous. I decided to stop sobbing and face that creature; nobody ever told me that I was an idiot. I thought that I'd come face to face with a monster. Instead I was facing....nothing?
