CHAPTER THREE

╰☆╮

IT'S BEEN EXACTLY FIVE YEARS SINCE RAVEN has moved in with Haley and things couldn't have been better. The two became fast friends and Raven grew attached the girl, she was the only person she trusted and told her everything. Everything. From her first memory to her worst nightmare, Haley knew it all. Though, it did take a couple of weeks to warm up to the hyperactive girl but after that the two couldn't have been closer.

Haley also told Raven everything, she told her about her condition and how her parents struggled to pay for her medications. Haley grew up in a somewhat poor environment but after her grandfather passed away all his inheritance went to her parents and thus, they spoiled her. It was a sweet gesture but Haley never wanted to be spoiled, she just wanted to be healthy.

Raven even gained a few more friends but none of them compared to Haley. There were often times that Raven would hear some nasty things being said about Haley and she never understood why. The only thing was, Haley was making more money then those who trashed talked about her. Haley, on the other hand, paid them no attention and kept to herself.

"He keeps staring at you." The sound of Haley's voice causes Raven to look up from her crossword puzzle. Cocking an eyebrow Raven hums in confusion, with her pen in her mouth she begins to look around the small cafe shop. Haley hisses at her, "Don't make it obvious!"

"I wasn't?" Raven removes the pen from her mouth and gives Haley an innocent look. Haley rolls her eyes drinking from her coffee and keeps her eyes behind Raven. "Twelve a'clock. Make if subtle."

"How about I pretend to go to the bathroom instead of turning around like the damn exorcist." Raven stares blankly giving Haley a look to which she simply rolls her eyes and goes back to her book. Raven exhales softly drinking from her cup of cold water and giving Haley a nod but she was to engrossed in her book to notice. "All right, I'll be be back."

"Yay, go Ray. Go get you a man that you don't need." Haley cheers unenthusiastically, her tone sounding sarcastic as she raises a fist but doesn't bother glancing in her direction. Raven doesn't say anything and gets up from her spot, and heads towards the bathroom.

From the corner of her eye, Raven noticed the cute guy sitting at the table not far from theirs' staring at her as she walks towards the bathroom. When she arrives she can't help but bite her lip at the thought of getting out there again.

Before she left for Atlanta, Raven was dating what she thought was the perfect guy. She thought they were going to be married, have children, grow old together. It would've been a beautiful escape from nonstop nightmares back at home. Of course, after four years of dating he convinced her that he never loved her.

It was one reason why she moved, she couldn't stand the thought of bumping into him in street with another woman clinging on to him, the words echoing in her head every time she saw him. The town was small enough so running into him would've been inventible. Raven wanted to stab him for doing that to her, for leading her on for four years. She never felt so humiliated, so stupid for falling for someone like that.

Raven broke away from her thoughts when someone entered the bathroom. She sighed heavily and splashed some water on her face before walking back to her friend.

"Finally, What took you so long?" Haley groaned setting her book down. Raven gave her a tight smile watching as one waiter put down a greasy bacon burger on Haley's side and a grilled chicken salad on hers. Haley makes a noise biting down in her burger, "I got you a salad since you seem to enjoy those."

"Thanks." Raven picked up her fork ready to dig in but the moaning noises that Haley was making was kind of disturbing. Raven glanced up watching as Haley took another bite of her greasy, fatty, burger making Raven cringe at the sight. "You should lay off of those."

"Oh yeah? You should stop being so picky and eat a damn burger." Haley exclaims, her face filled with food but she didn't care as she stuffed another fry in her mouth. She then looks Raven up and down, "God know you need one."

"Hey!"

──── ⊹ ────

this has been one of the shortest
chapters I have ever written but I
did this because in the next one, it
will go straight into the good stuff.
also, part one is only going to be
four/five parts because I'm not very
creative and I can't think of anything else
to add in. so, part two
will lead into s4 episode 13. you'll see why.
