CHAPTER FIVE

╰☆╮

SHE COULDN'T SLEEP AT NIGHT WITHOUT PICTURING their dead bodies, bloody and cold. Every time she closes her eyes she could see the blood on her hands and his screams all while Mason growled with his glowing eyes; it was a nightmare. A nightmare that would stick with her for all eternity-or until she dies but until then that's all she could think about.

The sound of her phone ringing, for the hundredth time, brought Raven out of her toxic thoughts. Her phone lit up with a picture of Haley and her at the mall with a smile plastered on both their faces, it was a few weeks after she met and moved in with Haley. Haley. She'd never be able to face her again, never hug her, never talk to her. Raven is dangerous fugitive on the run and she can't bring herself to be near her best friend.

Throwing the phone at the wall Raven cries out, the phone was durable to withstand the blow as it bounced off he wall and onto the motel's floor but the ringing stop and that was good enough for her. Raven sighed heavy resting her head on the wooden table. After the accident back at the office, Raven fled town not sleeping until her car ran out of gas. Or the car Haley got her.

It wasn't until she made it to Knoxville, Tennessee that she pulled into a random motel and she payed in cash. There was no way she was letting anyone know who she was, maybe she was being paranoid but either way she was being cautious. The clerk did however notice the dry blood covering her grey skirt at her purse but didn't say anything as he gave her a room, Raven basically threatened her own safety.

Turning on the tv Raven gets up from her spot on the table and begins to walk towards the bathroom until the voices from the tv caught her off guard. Slowly, she turned around to notice the tv was the news channel with her face shown in the corner of the screen. Panic began to settle in her stomach scrambling to turn up the volume, she froze hearing the words from the anchor's mouth.

"Raven Braxton has been identified for the murder of Mason Tate and Jackson Wayett. She was last seen wearing a dark button up with a grey skirt fleeing the scene. If you see her or have any information regarding her appearance call the authorities and do not approach her."

There was only so much time before the clerk watches the news and figures out who she is. Raven doesn't even have a chance to clean herself as she grabs her things and runs out of the room, leaving nothing but her scent behind. Once she makes it into her car, she locks all the doors and presses the gas pedal speeding her way out of the town and moving up north.

Her phone ringing from the passenger's side startles Raven, the only person who would be calling her minutes after the news aired would be none other than Haley Davidson. Raven knew better than to pick up the phone, someone could be tracing her calls and with Raven being a loose criminal she couldn't be known.
