CHAPTER THIRTY SIX

╰☆╮

At the sight of the pools of blood surrounding her causes her stomach to stir, hands tremble and shake but she presses down harder, tears streaming down her cheeks like a waterfall. Uncomfortable sobs rack out of her body, lips quivering and wanting nothing more than switch places with the female right under her. The phone pressed against her ear is covered in blood, the screen no longer noticeable and the person on the other line is speaking with a comforting tone, repeating the same words over and over again. 'Ma'am everything is going to be okay'.

If Raven was foolish enough she'd believe those words. But as she's pressing her hands against Haley's stomach with everything she's got, the blood still manages to slip in between her fingers and trail down her arms. Raven knows damn well that nothing would be able to save Haley. And although it's the werewolf's fault, Raven still finds a way to blame herself.

Haley's face is dripping in sweat, pale as a ghost, and weak yet she states clearly that the pain is no longer there. They both know she's dying. The amount of blood she lost is by now irreplaceable and the ambulance is far off, the two being stuck inside an abandoned building. The dead werewolf feet away from them, or at least the one that had snuck up on Haley, the other one practically in the other room. There's absolutely no way Raven can move her without killing her faster.

"Hey," Haley calls out, her tone brittle and broken. Her own tears stream down and landing softly on Raven's legs. Haley's head is laid on Raven's lap, Haley griping onto her arm weakly. With the little strength in her body, Haley looks up at Raven removing her hand from her arm and onto her face, smearing her own blood on Raven's cheek accidentally the phone dropping onto the floor, breaking in the process. Haley gasps for air quietly, her lips lifting slightly, "This...isn't your fault. I-I can see it in your eyes...you're lost. R-Raven, you...you might be lost now but you're not lost forever."

Breathing becomes difficult as Haley gasps for air, her lungs contracting making no room for her to breathe, but Haley doesn't give up not yet. Another single tear runs down the side of her face, smiling to comfort Raven to the best of her ability. "I love you, Raven..."

"Raven!"

Raven blinks the gruff voice bringing her out of her memories and back into reality, since the accident she's been spacing out taking her to her dark thoughts, reliving the same nightmares over and over again. Not just Haley's death but Jo and Ellen's. The building blowing up, the dogs barking and growling in front of her, the terrifying, deadly, and hungry expression on their faces, and all the blood. The blood that covers and drips from Raven's hands. Haley's death was just as horrifying as Jo and Ellen's. And their deaths were on her.
