CHAPTER THIRTY

╰☆╮

AFTER THEIR chat in the impala, Dean pushed himself away from Raven and she noticed. After the night at her mom's house the two decided to stop having one sleep on the nasty uncomfortable motel couch and share the motel bed. But after that day Dean made sure to keep himself away from her, going as far as sleeping on the couch. Raven wasn't entirely sure why he was avoiding her but she respected him and kept her distance as well.

Raven was finishing up in the bathroom, brushing her teeth as Sam walks in and softly pushes her so he could also use the sink. She didn't mind and made some room so the two could use the sink. It isn't until Sam looks out the bathroom and back over at Raven.

Sam noticed the way they were avoiding each other, his brother would often times steal glances towards her direction and now he's hardly seen him do it. Furrowing his eyebrows together in confusion, he whispers, "Is everything okay between you and Dean?"

"Yeah, why wouldn't they be?" Raven spits the remaining toothpaste out and washes her mouth. Sam looks unconvinced but he doesn't say anything about it and resumes to fix his dress shirt. Raven wipes the water dripping from her chin with the back of her hand and lifts a brow at Sam, one hand leaning on the ceramic sink. There was no doubt in her mind that he would bring it up and she was going to shut him down before he could. "Sam, we're just friends. Nothing more...nothing less."

"Right," Sam scoffs at her statement. He's witnessed his brother's past romances, some from high school and some even like Cassie. But he's never seen his brother so confused and awestruck by Raven. Sam wasn't an idiot. He noticed the way Raven would light up when Dean would say something stupid joke or the way he would light up when Raven laughs. Raven was just to fixated on the idea of being friend and Dean was in denial. "I believe that."

Before Raven gets the opportunity to say anything else, Sam is turning on his heel and leaning on the doorway as he speak to Dean. Raven bites the inside of her cheek, she shuts her eyes tightly, thinking back of her previous relationship. Maybe it was her fault she was too foolish, too naive, to notice when someone isn't interested. Frowning, Raven walks out of the bathroom passing by Dean who was watching TV.

She quickly does a double take and looks over at Sam, her brows flew up to her hairline and her mouth was slightly gaped open. A small chuckle leaves her mouth but she covers it with by clearing her throat. Dean hears her chuckle and turns towards her, he opens his mouth before closing it, he purses his lips and looks back at the show. Raven's smile falls slightly but she shakes it off and heads towards the door.

"I'll be waiting in the car!" Raven calls out, pretending to tip her imaginary hat and shuts the door behind her. She lets out a heavy sigh and walks over to the impala, perhaps Dean was ignoring her because of what she said but it was nothing but cold hard facts. Raven stuffs her hands into the pocket of her Fed suit and feels how empty she feels. Reaching inside her suit, Raven forgot to grab her gun. Walking back over to the motel room she hears whispering.
