CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT

╰☆╮

THE JOURNAL WAS KEPT SAFE IN RAVEN'S duffel bag, whatever was inside, she knew she wasn't ready to read it. After their visit at Washington, Raven knew Morgan was hiding something from her and perhaps everything she was hiding was inside the journal but Raven wasn't ready. She wasn't going to dive into the journal the same way she did with old book that was left for her. Even after having it for some time, the information was overwhelming and it was taking her a while to actually go back and translate it. Also, it was partially because after having experienced one of the side effects of reading the book, she was slightly afraid to continue.

Though, the two books weren't her main interest at the moment. The three of them have picked up an interesting case that Raven was practically jumping on her heels to figure out what was going on. She stood in front of the two brothers, her usual smile present on her face as she shows her badge to the doctor lady in front of her.

The woman looks from the badge up to their faces, looking between the three of them. Raven's smile drops only slightly when she notices the unconvinced expression on her face, "You expect me to believe you're CDC?"

Raven could already tell the brothers were exchanging glances but Raven couldn't exactly snap her head towards them. So, tilting her head ever so slightly, she furrows her brows curiously at the woman, "Excuse me?"

"It's just that you're a day early. First time in history I haven't sat on my ass waiting for you people," The doctor spills, her voice booming with anger. Raven clears her throat, a list of excuses coming up dry in her head and she ponders for a second.

Dean is quick. Showing off his pearly white teeth, he shrugs his shoulders slightly, "New administration. A change you can believe in."

The woman stares at him her brows furrowed together and Raven sighs, letting her head fall slightly. She should've known he was going to say something like that, the woman looks over at Raven and all she could do was give her a tight lipped smile. Without another word, the woman begins to lead the three of them over to morgue. She pulls out the body, Raven taking a step back from the dead body. She was never a fan of cadavers.

"Meet Xavier. Date of birth, April third, nineteen eighty-four," She exchanges glances with the three of them. Raven's breakfast grumbles in her stomach, feeling the bile make its way up her esophagus but she manages to keep it down. The doctor takes notices their curiosity and nods, "I know. I ran the DNA twice. That's definitely him."

"Well, he wasn't big on the sunscreen, huh?" Dean comments keeping his eyes down on the body. Sam looks over at his brother, sending him a weird look before turning over to the doctor, "So, what's your theory?"
