CHAPTER THIRTY SEVEN

╰☆╮

THE WALK BACK to the motel room doesn't make anything better for Raven, her cravings still lingers in her body and the anger pulsing through her system doesn't simmer down. Her jaw ticks every few seconds as she manages to hold herself together, maybe apart of her is angry for believing she could do some good in the world, for believing Sam and Dean that she wasn't going to turn out to be some violent creature that does nothing but crave war. Angry at herself for not doing something else to save Haley, angry that Jo directed the hellhounds towards her, and angry that she's born as a screwed up human being.

The people on the sidewalk that pass by notice the steam coming from Raven's body as she walks down, some ignore her and simply walk around her, going towards he nearest place for food or sex or even money. Others throw glances and nods to somehow rile her up even more hoping to score a chance of their own fight. Not caring who their next victim is. And Raven seemed like the perfect one. Unarmed and pretty. A perfect victim.

"Why am I so angry? Why am I craving for a fight? Violence? This is not me. Oh god, I snapped at Dean. He's gonna think I hate him now. Why am I so dumb! Ew, I think I stepped on gum. God, I really need to go back and I apologize. This is not okay. This stupid town has me everywhere, I just need some sleep. Sleep, yes. That's all I need. I think there's someone following me—"

Raven's thoughts bounce back and forth with each other until she's left a rambling mess inside her own mind, trying to figure out what the hell is going on. The sound of heavy boots coming from directly behind her causes the hairs on her neck to stand and she's speeding up in order to get rid of the person but they only follow her closer. It isn't lone before she breaks out into a sprint, but a pair of hands grab her shoulder and slam her back against the brick wall.

"Hey there sweet cheeks," The man smiles, showing off his yellow teeth and Raven gags looking away and squirming under the man's unusual tight grip. The smell of cigarette smoke burns the insides of Raven's nostrils and she's almost praying that it's some creature and not human. The man drags his hands down her body but Raven pushes the man away before he could even touch her anywhere below the neck.

The man doesn't bulge and grabs ahold of her face making her look up at him, he smiles wickedly and begins to lean in, Raven eyes go wide in shock. The switch goes off again and Raven knees the man, he doubles over and Raven takes it as her chance to knee him again in the face. The man falls onto the floor crying out in pain for a second and she begins to run out into the street but he grabs ahold of her ankle and yanks her down on the asphalt. Raven lands on her right wrist and a cry of pain echos into the street.

Using her left hand, Raven begins to pick herself up but the man is faster and begins to kick her in the stomach, shouting out a jumble of curses, and occasionally kicking her face. It isn't until a car stops nearby and the sound of a man shouting causes the him to run. With a bloodied face, a bruised eye, and another busted lip, Raven glances up at the person and finds Dean towards the man with a gun only to come back.
