CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN

╰☆╮

THE DRIVE TO WASHINGTON TOOK A while but once they got there, Raven felt the memories of her childhood and teenage years flooding her mind like a tidal wave. And once they entered the small town of hers, Raven could feel her heart skip a beat. It still looked the same. The grey clouds looming over the small town that she had grown to dislike. It was only three o'clock and it was already dark, ready for the rainfall that would probably last around three hours. Sam, the one driving, keeps his gaze on the road but he couldn't help but let his eyes wander off at the small stores around the town.

Dean's eyes narrow slightly at the town, it was small and dark, everyone walking on the sidewalk had a look of disgust or an unwelcoming appearance. His lips purse at the sight in front of him, he turns slightly to get a look at the woman in their backseat. Her eyes shone with a sparkle when staring out the window. "How does someone like you come from somewhere like this?"

Raven meets Dean's gaze and lifts a brow opening her mouth to speak but his question didn't seem to make any sense. She looks over at Sam who was staring at her through the rear window, "What do you mean?"

"I mean," Dean pauses, trying to form his words correctly and not make a good out of himself. He get like an idiot for even saying anything know but there was no backing out now. Dean gives Sam and look but all he does is give him a shrug, he dug himself in the hole and to Sam it was pretty amusing. In a way, it was payback when he would tease him about Pandora. Glaring at his brother, Dean turns back to Raven, "You're all smiley and this town is pretty gloomy filled with pissy people."

Raven smiles at Dean taking it as a compliment. Sam couldn't help but let out a chuckle at the sight receiving a punch from his brother. The tips of his ears turn a soft pink color and he was happy no one noticed. Having enough, Dean turns back around keeping his gaze on the shops and cafés. Raven bites down on her lip and leans forward, resting her arms on their seat peaking her head through them.

It's silent for a second and Raven takes her time inspecting the town she had fled from. The memories of all her "friends" and that ex-boyfriend making it too much for her. Her friends that claimed to care but when she went running to them, they locked their doors and pretended Raven wasn't outside begging to stay for the night. Her ex-boyfriend that claimed he loved her but left her in the dust the second he got to own his father's store.

"Oh, turn here!" Raven points to the street up ahead, pushing away the memories that somehow always find their way back to her mind. The street was lonesome with tall trees standing by on the stretch of road. They had lived in a private property with no neighbors near by and nothing but trees in the backyard.
