Chapter 31 | Iridescent

"Why do people have to be this lonely? What's the point of it all? Millions of people in this world, all of them yearning, looking to others to satisfy them, yet isolating themselves. Why? Was the earth put here just to nourish human loneliness?"
-Haruki Murakami, Sputnik Sweetheart

Liam's Pov

It's already afternoon when we decided to stop over a mall. After ng sagutan namin, it's just so feel awkward.

We went first to a clothing shop, to buy extra clothes for my self. May baon naman daw na damit si Tiffany when I asked her. I am currently at the male section, choosing two random t-shirts. One plain v-neck black shirt and a navy blue round neck shirt na may print. Then I also bought a gray sweat pants.

I don't exactly know where exactly in Tagaytay we are going. May rest house kami doon, pero ayaw ko pumunta doon dahil obviously they'll find me there.

I roam around the store to look for Tiffany. She was in the lady's section and checking out some Cardigans. Nilapitan ko siya, as she looks up at me, then binalik niya 'yung gray cardigan na hawak niya, then looks up at me smiling a little.

"Tapos ka na?" Tanong niya, glancing sa dala ko then eyes back to me.

"Yeah." Tipid kong sagot. Then we went to the counter and payed.

After that, we ate snack on the food court then roam a bit around the mall, before I saw a guitar shop.

"You're not trying to escape, right?" Medyo inis kong sabi.

She jokingly said. "I just needed to pee."

"Hintayin kita dito." Sabi ko. She nodded and went away.

I went further inside the shop to check the different kinds of guitars. Acoustic, electric and bass. May mga piano key boards, beatbox and drum set din. Tiningnan ko 'yung mga acoustic guitar, one catches my attention. It was cut away, has twenty fret board and the color was wooden or natural.

Pinatabi ko muna sa may guard 'yung bags namin ni Tiffany as I went back to get the guitar. Hindi na ako nag pa alam, dahil obvious naman na pwede kunin by the looks of the other customers. Binigyan naman ako ng sales man ng stool as I sit on it. Tiningnan ko muna 'yung specs ng guitar and strum a few chords.

Ever since I saw Clyde playing a guitar when we are younger, I've always wanted to play. He's a pretty good guitarist and has a good voice to be honest. He's just perfect. Until I became a rebel and nag ka layo na nga loob namin ni Clyde. Pero kapag na sa bahay lang ako, I secretly sneak to Clyde's room to borrow his guitar and play.

I always wanted to buy one and have my own pero laging na wawala sa isip ko. Now that I'm holding one, ayaw ko na siya pa kawalan. It's very slick and sounds good. I already fell in love with it.

I strum the string in the tune of Lost Stars by Adam Levine. Favorite song namin 'yun nila Sandrew at Ace. The song, it's lyrics, it just perfectly and accurately describes us. Then I suddenly remembered, some time when we get drunk, habang nag pa gewang-gewang kami sa kalsada we are singing lost stars, in the top our lungs and out of tune. The memory made me chuckle, then I remembered hindi na nga pala kami mag kaibigan.
