Umm guys, so I've realised this book MIGHT end a little more than ten more chapters, because I forgot about one very important storyline. Whoops lol. I hope that's okay with you guys & that you'll love this book enough to stick 'till the end! xx

CH 45 |

"Dad!" I cry, tears swelling in my eyes as I rush to the side of the pure-white bed in which he lays asleep in. I nudge him a little, poking him all over his shoulder to gently wake him up. "Dad?"

Levi rubs the back of his neck nervously. "Yeah, I forgot to tell you... He might be in a little bit of a deep hibernation."

"What?! For how long?"

"About a day-ish. It's part of the memory-wipe."

My eyes twitched. "WHAT?"

Levi raises his hands in surrender. "Only short-term, meaning a week's worth of memory! We were planning to release him, make him go back to his normal routine so then we could stalk him and find out where your mom's secret stash is, but now..."

"I think it's good that you wiped his memory." Phoebe suddenly pipes in. "It's best that Mr Winters doesn't know about the events of the past week."

My mind tries to scan through all the events that has happened this past week, but it's too overwhelming. It's barely been a month since I came to NYC and so much has happened within that time than it ever has in years in Malibu. From finding out that Vincent has completely transformed into a bad-boy-king-of-the-school guy, then I get kidnapped out of nowhere and he saves me, and then my father gets kidnapped, and then Hamish and his gang tries to kidnap me, then it turns out that my mom has locked up several billion dollars in some secret island, and then Hamish and his gang turn out to be good people, and then Vincent and I suddenly become a thing out of nowhere —

And now, I've actually managed to convince Levi to shut down C.H.A.N.

So, what went on in your life this past week?

"D-did you inject him with this memory wiping thing—" I manage to choke out, still overwhelmed by the events playing in my mind.

"—Oh no, it's not an injection, it's a spray." Levi walks over to the counter on the opposite wall of this pure-white room, picking up two glass spray containers with a substance that could be mistaken for water. "The left one is the short-term memory wiper, which I sprayed on your dad's face, and the right one is the long-term memory wiper, which can wipe away someone's memory of 5 to 10 years, depending on the number of times you spray it on them."

I stare at the containers in awe. "How are they even possible?"

Levi grins triumphantly. "Me. Because of me. I invented them."

If he was expecting me to admire and applaud him after that, he was in for a shocker. I narrowed my eyes at him and crossed my arms.
