~Day One ~

Delaney sighed as she unpacked the last dish from her current box. She gave a satisfied look glancing around her new apartment. It wasn't her old apartment that she had loved with the amazing view of the sunset, but this place was beautiful in its own way.

Thinking back to how she had ended up here she shuddered.

How humiliating it had been when Tom had broken up with her. Coming home that night from working long hours on set he had pulled her into the living room to sit down to talk.

"Delaney" he had started which was weird. He never called her Delaney. No one called her Delaney actually, it was always Laney. And Tom, well he called her Laney-love.

"Delaney I've been doing an awful lot of thinking and I- well I just don't think we're right for each other anymore. I do love you it's just....."

Laney had just moved into his home 6 months ago. After 2 years of dating he begged her to finally move in with him. And after some reluctance she had agreed. And now he was breaking up with her?

Laney couldn't even speak. She just sat there dumbfounded and extremely exhausted. She had planned on coming home taking a long hot bath and then curling up with Tom in their king sized bed. But he wasn't even planning on staying there that night apparently. Laney noticed his luggage by the front door.

"You don't have to move out straight away." He continued. How generous of him she thought. "I'm going to London for a few months. Take your time..... Laney..... I do love you." He kissed her forehead and then disappeared out the front door. That was 4 months ago. She hadn't spoke to him since, besides a text telling him she had found a place and would be out of his home in a week - 2 tops. She hadn't spoken to any of her fellow MCU castmates besides Scarlett who had called her immediately upon finding out Tom had basically dumped her. The guys had all sent her a text to check on her. She had kept to herself mainly due to humiliation. She hadn't even seen it coming. What a fool. And now in a week she would be returning to Atlanta to film part 2 of  Infinity War and would have to face all her cast mates and Tom who she hadn't seen since the night he broke up with her in their home...his home.

Exactly one week later Laney stepped out of her trailer on the set of 'Avengers Infinity War'.

"Laney Lou-who!" The distinct voice of Chris Evans boomed loudly across the lot.

Laney turned with a forced grin. She was trying to fly under the radar not really ready to face anyone, still.

"Hey Chris" Her forced smile slowly turned into a genuine one as he approached her.

"How you doing?" His voice was sincere.

"Amazing. How are you?" She asked as they fell into step together.

"Amazing," he nudged her playfully.

Laney's heart flip flopped at his smile. What was that?! True she had always had somewhat of a crush on Chris pretty much since the day she had met him. But she was so shy when it came to boys. And Chris had a girlfriend. And then she met Tom and it was months of heavy flirting between Laney and him until they were inseparable.

She didn't give Chris anymore thought. Until right now.

"I should have called you instead of just sending some lame text." Chris shielded his eyes from the sun.

"It's ok," Laney shrugged with a smile "I wouldn't have answered"

"There's my favorite little red-hot witch!" Anthony Mackie jumped out of his trailer opening his arms for a hug.

"How's it going Mackie?" Laney let him pull her into his arms.

"Wonderful. And you?"

"I'm good." Laney took a step back.

"How are you really?" Anthony put his hands on either side of her shoulder and looked her deep in the eyes.

"I'm good." She repeated removing his hands from her shoulders with a smile.

Anthony looked at Chris "She's good?"

Laney laughed as Chris nodded "Lady says she's good she's good."

"You kind of fell off the radar after..."

"After Tom broke up with me?" Laney arched an eyebrow.

"Damn, well yeah. "

Laney shrugged with a sigh "After we broke up I took some time to myself. I went on a fabulous vacation alone. I got a new apartment and moved in basically alone. And I've been doing just fine for the past few months ALONE. "

"Why she keep saying alone like that? ALONE." Anthony asked Chris who only shook his head with a confused shrug.

Laney smiled "Thank you both for checking on me though. It meant a lot to me. Means a lot to me."

"LANEY RAE!!!" Tom Holland came skipping across the lot. "What are you doing hanging out with these 2 creeps?"

She laughed and pulled Tom into a hug. "Oh my favorite boy." She squeezed him tightly.

"What the heck is with the favoritism?" Mackie wanted to know.

"You know Laney and I are going to get married one day." Tom said matter of factually.

Chris and Anthony laughed at the ongoing joke Tom and Laney had.

"Yes we are!" Laney slid her arm around Tom's waist and hugged him one more time.

"I am a bit however, not so thrilled that you never called me back a couple weeks ago."

"Thought you weren't answering your phone!" Chris looked at Laney his eyebrows raised in question.

"Only for this one." She winked "See you boys on set!" She linked her arm with Tom and walked off.

"She seems ok." Anthony said watching them go.

Chris only nodded in agreement.

"You gonna make your move play boy?!" Anthony playfully hopped around punching the air and dodging imaginary blows like a boxer.

"What? No.....what move?"

"Everyone knows how crazy you are about her. Except for Holland. I think that boy is actually convinced they're gonna get married" Anthony laughed.

"No. I'm not going to do anything. She just got out of a breakup. And it was serious. You know she's not 100% ok. "

Anthony shrugged. "Today should be fun."

"Yeah why's that?"

"Hiddleston is on set today. He's here."
