Jealously wasn't a feeling Tom was accustom to. But when he saw the posts on Twitter and Instagram he felt his blood boil. It should be him with Laney meeting her niece for the first time, not Evans. He had tried to give her space. He thought he could ride out whatever ridiculous relationship that Laney and Chris had, but it seemed to be becoming more and more serious. For the first time he felt as though he were about to lose her forever.

"Why are you smiling at me like that?" Chris looked away from the tv and over at Laney. They were staying at Mike and Courtney's place since the new parents would be spending the night at the hospital. Mike, Courtney and the baby were set to come home the next day and Laney and Chris were going to go back to Los Angeles.
"I just keep thinking of watching you with Mila. You were amazing with her."
"I have nieces and nephews." Chris shrugged.
"I know but...." She trailed off with a shrug. "It was pretty hot." She admitted.
"Oh yeah?" Chris shifted on the couch to face her.
Laney nodded suggestively as she leaned over pushing Chris back kissing him softly. "I like you a lot. Like a lot a lot."
"I like you a lot to." Chris slid his hands down her back.
"I know I'm a basket case and sometimes my baggage from past relationships," She cringed, "brings me down so thank you for being so awesome and amazing. Never pressuring me or making me feel bad."
"I never want you to feel bad" He tilted her chin up to look in her eyes. "Laney I've told you how long I've waited for you."
"I don't think we need to wait any longer." She whispered. Standing up she grabbed his hand and pulled him up next to her. She wrapped her arms around his neck standing up on her tip toes she kissed him. "Come on." Her arms dropped from around his neck and she took his hand back in hers before tugging him behind her towards the spare bedroom they were staying in.
"You're sure?" He stopped her.
"100%." She said with a small smile.
The next morning Laney woke up with Chris's arm secured tightly around her. He was still breathing heavily, sound asleep. She smiled as she thought of the night before and carefully slipped out from underneath him. Grabbing his t-shirt from where it lay on the floor she slid it over her head before quietly exiting the room heading towards the kitchen to make a cup of coffee.
Grabbing her phone from her purse she pulled up Zoey's name and sent her a text:
So......I totally slept with Chris last night.
Within seconds Zoey replied causing Laney to laugh.
Shut up! Details!
Tonight I promise!😘
"Hey gorgeous. What's so funny?" Chris walked out of the bedroom pulling a pair of gym shorts on, his eyes squinting at the sun pouring through the kitchen window.
"Nothing." Laney set her phone down. "Just talking to Zoey."
"Yeah? What'd you say?"
"That I'm jumping back in bed with the sexy guy I spent the night with." She set her coffee mug down on the table before crossing the kitchen. Reaching Chris she slid her hands down his back and lifted her mouth up gently taking his lower lip in between her teeth.
Chris raised an eyebrow, a smile on his lips. "I'm not sure what's hotter, you in my shirt or you just sucking on my lip."
Laney laughed, "I don't think you'll be needing these." She tugged on the string from his gym shorts.
"Say no more." He pushed the shorts down to the ground before following her back into the bedroom.

"I think we broke the internet." Chris looked up from his phone as Laney slid into the passenger side of the car they had rented to take them back to Los Angeles. It was a 6 hour plus car ride but when Chris had suggested driving as opposed to flying Laney had thought it would be fun.
"Broke the internet?" Laney repeated.
"Yeah between the picture you posted on Instagram and the one I put on twitter. We are the new IT couple."
"Well we technically never confirmed we were dating." She smiled slyly.
"Nor did we deny it. You sure you're ok with that?"
"I have not a thing to hide. If the whole world finds out that I'm head over heels for you then so be it."
Chris grinned taking her hand, he brought it to his lips kissing her knuckles softly. "You, Laney Hunter, are the best thing I've ever waited for."
