The night before Laney's last night in London they had dinner with Tom's family at their home.
Harrison of course was there as well.
"Laney, I am so glad that you were able to come and visit." Mrs. Holland smiled warmly as they all sat down at the table.
"Thank you, so am I." Laney replied sincerely.
"I told Tom if he didn't bring you home at some point this year he wasn't allowed to return until you were with him." Mrs. Holland continued.
Laney laughed.
"It's true." Tom confirmed. "She's ships us harder than the fandom."
"Which fandom ships you?" Tom's brother Sam asked.
"Who do you think made up Spider-Witch?" Tom crinkled his eyes mystified.
"You!" Harrison pointed causing the table to erupt in laughter.
"No. No." Tom shook his head with a pout.
"Aww. It's ok." Laney reached over and tugged on his ear gently. "I ship us. Spider-Witch all the way."
Tom perked up with a satisfied smirk.
"Oh brother. I sure as hell hope you two aren't this bad in Seattle." Harrison groaned. "This week has been more than enough. Time for the ship to sink."
Laney burst out laughing.
"You're just jealous mate." Tom took a bite of food.
"How would Zoey feel about your ship?" Harrison raised an eyebrow.
"Who's ZOEY?!" Sam slammed his fist on the table.
"Laney's cousin." Harrison grinned.
"Are you seeing Laney's cousin?" Mrs. Holland turned to Tom.
"No. We met in New York. We stay in touch. Thank you, HARRISON." Tom shot him an evil look.
"She's going to be in Seattle." Laney smiled.
"Pictures or it didn't happen. I don't believe Tom snagged someone from your family." Sam tossed a piece of bread at Tom.
"Boys!" Mrs. Holland frowned.
"Little shit." Tom threw a bigger piece back. All Laney could do was laugh as Mrs. Holland put her head in hands, Mr. Holland continued eating as though nothing was happening and the 5 boys at the table engrossed in a food fight.
Tom dropped Laney off at the airport the next day.
"I guess I'll see you in Seattle." Laney wrinkled her nose. "Consider moving to LA would ya?"
"Then where would you run to when you're trying to escape your life?" Tom asked with a snarky smile.
"I'm not trying to escape anything."
Tom raised his eyebrows. "I know that I'm irresistible. But you flew on a plane to spend a week in London when you had only been home a few weeks after being gone for months. You don't want to be around Tom because it's forcing you to make a decision."
"That's not true." Laney shook her head avoiding eye contact.
"It is true. You're not even flying home now! You're going to Napa!"
"I miss my parents." She said defensively.
"If you're in LA and Tom's around you're scared he will make the decision for you. And if you're not home you can continue to juggle Tom and Chris and pretend like it's not happening. It's going to blow up in your face. Don't play with Chris's feelings because you're unsure of your own. And that goes for Tom to, although I'm still miffed with him."
"This is why you're my best friend." Laney stuck her lower lip out. "I adore you." She wrapped her arms around his neck. "I love you." She kissed his cheek. "When we get to Seattle tell Harrison I'm crashing your hotel room."
"You got it darling. I love you to. Have a safe flight. Call me when you land. Give mom and dad hugs from their favorite adopted son."
Laney smiled and hugged him one more time.

Pulling up the long driveway to her family's winery Laney leaned her head back against the seat of the car. She rolled the window down and inhaled the familiar scent a smile resting on her lips. Nothing smelled as good as home.
Her parent's home was best described as a Tuscan Estate. A million-dollar home that had been in her family for years, as the winery had been as well, beginning with her grandfather's grandfather. Laney had grown up not knowing anything different then wine tastings, sprawling acres of vineyard and summer night pool parties with an amazing view of Napa Valley.
"Hi Honey!!" Her mom pulled the front door open welcoming Laney excitedly. Her parent's yellow Labrador retriever Tuck jumped at her heels as Laney walked up the front porch steps and set her bags down to hug her mom.
"Hi Mama." She sighed.
"How was the flight? Mike!" She called, "Laney is here. Come grab her bags please."
"It was good. I slept a lot. Trying to re-adjust to LA Time."
"How is Tom? And his family?"
"Tom is good." Laney smiled. It was pretty funny how much her parents loved Tom and had gotten to know his parents and family through Tom and Laney. "They all say hello."
"I need to call Nikki. I've been dying to have her, Dom and the boys come spend a week here. Maybe this summer sometime. Yes, you and Tom and his family. Harrison the whole gang."
Laney laughed. "That sounds perfect mom. I definitely think we can make that happen."
"Good, come in and sit down. Are you hungry?" Rae paused, "MIKE! What is your father doing?" She muttered more to herself than to Laney.
"Trying to catch the end of the sports highlights." Laney's father Mike entered the room.
"Hi Dad." Laney grinned happily.
"Hi my beautiful girl." He pulled her in for a hug. "Where's Tom? You flying solo this trip?"
"Honey, I told you Tom wasn't coming this time." Rae rolled her eyes. "They never listen."
Laney nodded with a shrug smiling happily at her parents, glad to be home.
