Your POV

As hard as it is to believe, I'm a female in the war. No, I'm not a nurse. I'm a soldier. General Washington gave me permission to join the war, impressed with my knowledge on how to fight and do it right. It took some time, but most men (and I mean most) got used to me, particularly Alexander Hamilton, John Laurens, Hercules Mulligan, and Marquis de Lafayette (or just Lafayette). We were quite a reckless group... it's a miracle nothing's happened to us yet (oh just you wait reader).

It was just another day... mostly. We were preparing for a battle. It wasn't long though before we were attacking men sporting the stupid red coats. It was going just fine before something caught my eye. Cannons. I mentally groaned and nudged Alex, who was next to me. "They have cannons!" I exclaimed.

Alex rolled his eyes. "Of course they do..." But then suddenly his eyes lit up, and he dragged over a confused Hercules Mulligan. Alex looked at the big gray cannons, then back at us before exclaiming, "Let's take a stand with the stamina God has granted us! Hamilton won't abandon ship. Yo! Let's steal their cannons!"

I went wide-eyed, but Herc had a grin on his face. "Steal the British cannons? Alex you're crazy!" I said. Alex shrugged. "You don't have to. Your loss, (Y/N)." I couldn't believe what I was about to drag myself into.

"Fine. Let's do it."

We finally had a plan. I'd be a distraction -much to Alex's dismay for some reason-, while he and Herc would take as many cannons as they could.

Alex and Herc were a good distance away, watching me slowly make my way up. I sighed before catching a group of British soldiers in my sight.

"Ayo, Brits!" I yelled, twirling my gun. Their heads snapped over in my direction. Some seemed almost confused a woman was in a blue revolutionary coat, but the rest didn't. I counted about five. They were guarding the cannons. "Those are some nice cannons you have there." I started strolling over to them, still twirling my gun.

One of them glared at me. "You ain't touching them unless you have a death wish. You're lucky one of us hasn't shot you dead yet."

I grinned, and saw Alex and Herc in my peripheral vision. I could see a pissed Alex looking like he wanted to snap the soldier's neck. "I could say the same to you." I said. Before they could react I stopped twirling my gun and shot one right in the head; definitely dead. "Oops..! Too late for that~!" I chirped. With that, I took off sprinting, all the soldiers making the mistake of leaving the cannons behind.

I watched a couple bullets whiz by me, some hitting the trees around us. I managed to turn and shoot another soldier down. I counted about three left before turning back around and making a sharp turn. I swear I felt a bullet graze my shoulder, but I kept running. I hoped Alex and Herc had some cannons already.

I was beginning to run out of energy. I had shot down two more soldiers, and thought I had shot them all because I couldn't find another. I hid behind the closest tree, catching my breath. Alex and Herc surely had at least one. I peeked out from behind the tree and saw a clear coast. So I started making my way back.

I got pretty far, and saw the camp a good distance away. I faintly made out two familiar figures. One very tall one with a bandanna, and a much shorter one. Herc and Alex. I saw Alex wave to me and started running, but that was short lived before I felt a searing pain shoot up my leg and I stumbled to the ground. I turned to see a Redcoat. 'I knew I missed one...' I had no idea what Herc and Alex were going to do, but before I could fight back, I received the barrel of a musket to my head, immediately blacking out.

~ time skip a few hours ~

I woke up to a mild headache and bandages wrapped around my leg. Also to a dozed off Alex. I was surprised I wasn't in more pain. I sat up fully, not getting off the cot, and repeatedly tapped Alex until he woke up, something I always did. "(N/N)... stop tapping m--" His eyes immediately shot open when he realized what he was saying. He looked at me, and I swear I could see a giant wave of relief wash over him. He was about to speak but I cut him off with a grin.

"Tell me you two at least got one cannon?"

Alex couldn't help but smile and laugh. "We got three. I'm surprised the General didn't yell at us." He looked at me. "Never again am I letting you distract the British."

I shook my head. "You: the brains. Herc: the brawn. I make the best distraction hands down!"

We spent a few minutes talking about what happened. Two words after I got shot, angry Alex.

After a bit of comfortable silence, he stood up and took a step towards me, bending down slightly so he could hug me. I wrapped my arms around him, putting my head on his shoulder. We both noticed the mutual feelings toward each other, and I couldn't help but smile into his shoulder.

Who knew stealing cannons could lead to something so great?
