Your POV

Owning a small, cozy bookstore was actually a lot easier than people made it out to be. Maybe it's because I don't get too many people on a daily basis, but I had my days.

I was leaning against the counter, reading (F/B) for the dozenth time. There were a few people in my store right now, but not a lot, just the way I liked it. Then I heard the bell tinkle from the door, telling me someone came in. I looked up from my book to see who it was. I recognized him as Aaron Burr, someone who came in here often. He was a quiet guy, I had yet to talk with him, but I knew about him because of all the politics around here. I honestly thought he was quite cute.

I looked as Aaron went toward the historical stuff, somewhere he always went to. I went back to my book. I was currently re-reading (favorite part of book) and was enjoying myself when someone slowly came up to the counter. I looked up, seeing Aaron at the counter, holding a book. I put my own book aside. "Are you checking the book out?" I asked, motioning to the book he was holding.

He nodded. "Yes."

He placed the book on the counter, and I saw it was one of the many books of our founding fathers. I was a history fangirl, so I always loved having some history books on hand. I took the book and placed it next to my computer. "Do you have a library card?"

Aaron nodded again and pulled his card out of his shirt pocket. He handed me his card and I entered the number on his card into my computer (idk how libraries work leave me be ;w;). I scanned the book and it appeared on the screen. I handed him back his card, but got an idea.

"I just want to write your name in this book, I like keeping track of who has my history books." I said. That was true. The history books were mine beforehand so if they were damaged I knew who the last person who had them was.

I grabbed the book and went over to a small counter I had behind me. I pulled out my pen I kept behind my ear and wrote 'Aaron Burr' in the corner of the book. I grabbed a slip of paper as well and wrote a little note..

'Hey, I think you're a pretty great guy!
xxx-xxx-xxxx

Gimme a call when you have the chance!
- (Y/N) ♡'

I slipped the paper in the book and handed it to him, smiling. "Here you go, sir (I had to)! Have a great day!"

Aaron smiled and thanked me, walking away. Before he left, he opened the book, reading my note and looking back at me. However, I had already 'busied' myself with organizing my counter, a hidden smile on my face.

I saw him smile, then the tinkle of the bell signaled he left my bookstore.
