~ the week of the Winter's Ball ~

Your POV

Since I got here, oh boy. Non-stop flirting, charm. I wouldn't lie, some of it was winning me over, but who was I even to pick? I had the four outgoing revolutionaries, or the trio of clever Democratic Republicans. They all had their special qualities.

But the flirting. Jesus Christ.

Flashback -

I was sitting with the four revolutionaries (just pretend they never left for the war since she met them), and needless to say, I could tell they were trying to win my heart. Fun.

We were out in a park, and I was getting some awe-filled stares from passing people (not to mention both love-struck and jealous ones). It made me realize how our society had changed over time; how... 'unearthly' I was here.

"Hey (Y/N)," Alex started.

I looked at him. "Hm?"

"Did you know, (H/C) is the color of my true love's hair?" (if you get what I played off of I lOvE yOu... more than I already do XD it shouldn't be too hard to get tho)

I couldn't help but playfully roll my eyes at the quip. Of course it would be Alexander using lines like those.

"In that case," I responded smugly, "you must have a lot of potential true loves, Alexander."

That caused Alexander to blush slightly and the other three snickered.

"Oui, Alexander. But, does she have the sparkling (E/C) eyes like gemstones?" Laf replied.

"Or the beautiful sense of style?" Herc added.

"How about the lovely personality?" (okay just go John for not saying something about her appearance. this is why we love John) John chimed in.

I could tell they were trying to out-do each other; a silent rivalry I knew would tear them apart eventually. Yet the personality comment stuck with me more than the others. John didn't just want to free the slaves, he wanted equality- for women's lives and personalities to matter.

"You're all too flattering," I mused, giving them an amused smile.

John chuckled. "And how could I forget, her smile. The most beautiful curve on the body by far." (BLESS THIS MAN I LOVE HIM/ANTHONY SO MUCH)

I blushed, and the boys shot him a look. "You're really too kind, John."

"I'm only supporting women, dear (Y/N). Equality is key," John responded.

"I'm sure, John, that she's heard a lot about that in her lifetime--" Alex started.

"It's quite alright, Alex. It's hard to find guys who want to fight for equality and even slavery," I spoke.

"I suppose so," Herc sighed.

"Yes. But what are you guys into?" I inquired.

"Well, as you already know I'm all for equality and freeing the slaves," John answered first.

"I love making and fixing clothes. I own a tailor shop a few minutes away," Herc replied.

"That's nice! I'll have to look for it one day," I exclaimed.

Herc chuckled, a bit of rose color visible on his dark-skinned cheeks. "That would be nice."

Alex made a light 'tch' noise. "I've always been one for writing. Anything, anytime. It's a bit of a stress reliever, so to speak."
