John's POV

I still remembered the sirens' voices. The black silhouette of what had to have been a tail. It all added up. The space sirens were real... and they didn't want to hurt us? At least the shadow of the one I must've saw.

Alex and I were stumped. We didn't know how we'd see the sirens. We had no way of making them come to us, and no idea how often they saw us. The only thing I could remember was the siren's sweet voice.

Thinking about me, huh?

I looked around wildly. Was I thinking out loud? Nobody was there except for Alex, who also looked around confused.

You weren't thinking out loud, calm down.

'Who are you?'

You don't recognize my voice? Shame...

As soon as the voice said that, it clicked. 'The siren's voice...'

You'd be correct, human.

I looked over at Alex. "Is... someone talking to you?"

He nodded. "That sultry voice. Are you hearing something?"

"Yeah. The other female voice."

Alex sighed. "This is so weird. Communication through thoughts? Is this like the year 3000?"

"I don't know. Maybe we can learn something though."

'Who... are you?'

I'm a space siren. Don't you know that already?

'Yes... but who are you really?'

How can I trust you with such information? You could be anyone, human.

I paused a moment.

'My name is John. John Laurens.'

There was a long period of silence. After a moment, I heard Alex mumble "Maria" under his breath.

My name is (Y/N). (I'm the android sent by-- wait wrong fandom sorry)

'(Y/N)...'

That's me.

'Sh*t... I forgot you can hear me...'

I heard her laugh, and could've swore a blush started crossing my face. I didn't even know what she looked like or anything about her...

It's alright. I think anything besides us would be quite... startled, if this happened to them.

'I think so..'

You know, Laurens, you should always face someone when you're talking to them.

I was confused. 'I know that, but.. aren't you...'

In your head? Yes. But also in your sight? That as well.

Though I was confused, I looked around. Nothing. I turned my body, facing one of the big windows. I nearly jumped when there were a figure visible.

On the other side of the glass, there was a woman with (H/L), (H/C) hair. Looking closer, she had (E/C) eyes. But while she looked like a woman from the waist up, I couldn't help but notice the dark (F/C) tail. The tail had all sorts of intricate patterns on it.

I hesitantly walked closer to the window, until I was a few feet away. Her eyes had a sparkle in them, and I noticed her fingers were pointed rather than rounded like ours.

The siren rested one of her hands on the glass. I was startled when I heard (Y/N)'s voice, but the siren's mouth didn't move.

You know, you're a lot more wonderful up close.

'This is... you?'

The siren frowned, but nodded. I shook my head.

'No. You're quite beautiful. The myths didn't lie.'

Her frown disappeared, and she.. well, (Y/N), smiled. Everything about her just seemed captivating.

I looked at her hand on the glass, pausing a moment before lifting my own hand and setting it against the glass in front of her hand.

I quite wish there wasn't so many boundaries between us. You seem.. charming. I found myself loving you at first glance if you... don't mind me disclosing that.

Was she serious? A siren falling in live with a human? And a human falling in love with a siren...

'Not at all. I honestly feel the same way...'

But there's too many things standing in our way, dear Laurens. I'm something completely different from what you are. It simply won't work. We can't have a love that works.

The frown on (Y/N)'s face returned, and I sighed. I glanced around the room, my eyes landing on my astronaut suit.

'That's it...'

What's it?

I looked back at her, and instead of thinking, I whispered 'solution'. Her eyes widened, and I put my hand down.

'Stay there. I might just have an idea after all.'
