But who was I even to ask?

~the next day~

Your POV

After a long night on discussing who the hell I was even considering, I had made up my mind. Let's just hope it only went the way I wanted it to.

Aaron's 'Path'

I had decided on none other than Aaron Burr himself. But, as wise a man as Aaron was, I knew he wouldn't ask me. It was up to me to make the move, which hopefully would go well, seeing as little to no women asked men to the ball themselves. This wasn't exactly my year anymore. This was 1780, and I was surprised no words from my own time had slipped out of my mouth (liT-- jesus christ i'm sorry). But y'know what?

Changing things up was always fun.

~

I found myself knocking on Aaron's door, my hands going behind my back nervously. It didn't take long for the door to open and Aaron to appear in front of me.

"(Y/N)! What a pleasant surprise!"

I laughed a bit. "Indeed! Are you by chance doing anything at the moment?"

He shook his head. "Not at all. Do come in!"

Aaron opened the door wider and let me step in. He lead me to his living room where I sat in a soft chair across from his couch- where he sat down.

"So, what brings you here this afternoon?" Aaron asked curiously.

I laughed nervously. "Yes... about that."

"Well, don't be afraid to speak up. It's perfectly fine."

I took a breath, exhaling before deciding it was now or never. "You do know about the annual Winter's Ball at the Schuyler estate, right?"

Aaron nodded. "Yes. It's only the talk of Albany right now," he answered, chuckling.

I smiled sheepishly. "But of course. It's only one of the biggest events this whole year."

He hummed in agreement and I decided to go on. "So, have you found yourself a partner for said ball?" Blunt, but it was the best I had.

Aaron seemed a bit taken aback at my question, but quickly regained his composure. "I have not. However, I did have someone in mind, but I've been too nervous to ask her myself. A shame, I know."

I laughed. "It really isn't. It makes my job a lot easier though," I responded calmly. I knew exactly what I was saying, and I hope it came by that way.

"Hm? What job of yours?"

I put my hands on my lap, folding them. "What I'm trying to get at, Aaron, is asking you to be my partner for the ball?"

Again, he was shocked. "M-Me?"

"Yes, you! Who else is in this room? No one!"

He cleared his throat, composing himself again. "Right right. I'd be honored, but shouldn't this be going the other way around?"

I shrugged. "No one's telling me I can't from what I can see. So, that's how it'll be!"

Aaron chuckled. "Clever. I'm honored you chose me as your partner."

"Good, because I had no other ideas."

John's 'Path'

John Laurens. The freckled young man from South Carolina (who could also somehow speak Spanish) had stolen my heart. I faced a problem though: I was too scared to ask him myself. I found falling so badly for him just the thought of approaching him about it made me anxious. So I could only play the waiting game and hope it went well.

~

I was currently in a park nearby to Alex's house with him, John, Hercules, and Lafayette. In my head, I constantly called them the Hamilsquad, just like (Sister/N) and I would do back in our own time. It made me realize how much I missed her, but I knew she was happy for me, so I continued on.

John and I were laying low behind the three rambunctious males, and I was starting to question if they were alright or not. They seemed to be having a very interesting time ahead of us, one of them usually throwing a flirt back to me, causing John's hazel eyes to narrow as he huffed at them. We knew the guys could still hear us, so we took matters into our own hands. Spanish!

"Estos tres ... Lo juro..." John muttered. (These three... I swear...)

I giggled, holding onto his arm. "Lo sé. Sólo déjalos ... sean ellos." (I know. Just let them... be them.)

John chuckled. "Me alegro de que al menos alguien me entienda." (I'm glad at least someone understands me.)

I shot him a smile as we continued walking in a comfortable silence, watching the three in front of us with careful gazes. It was a few minutes before John spoke up (in Spanish).

"¿Puedo preguntarte algo?" (Can I ask you something?)

I nodded. "¡Por supuesto!" (Of course!)

John smiled sheepishly. "¿Puedo tener el honor de llevarte a la pelota?" (Can I have the honor of taking you to the ball?)

A shocked expression crossed my face before I smiled and nodded excitedly, ignoring the even more confused looks as I answered in English. "Yes! Of course!"

"I had a feeling you'd-- wait... you will?!"

I giggled. "Yes!"

John grinned, his hazel eyes sparkling victoriously. He hugged me tightly. "Thank you! No te arrepentirás de esto, ángel." (You will not regret this, angel.)

"Estoy seguro de que no lo haré." (I'm sure I will not.)

oOO it was kinda fun using translate to do Spanish. John is always fun to write with.

heads up BTW, like I said before the oneshot started, there will be two more parts to this series. one ending for Aaron, the other for John. unless something is highly requested that has to do with this mini series, that'll be that!

anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this, and I'll cya next oneshot~!
