Your POV

To put it bluntly (and honestly), I was one of the 'nerds' in the high school. I devoted most of my time to studying at the library and doing all my homework, extra credit, and projects. But I also had a little secret pastime of my own that only my two closest friends knew about; I loved playing baseball.

~

Today had gone pretty normally. The popular girls were constantly watching me to make sure I didn't go near 'their little Pip' (as well as watching the other girls. I wasn't alone). They made me want to gag honestly. The popular chicks were as bright as broken light-bulbs, to put it simply.

It was after school, I was sitting under a tree working on (F/Subject) extra credit. Next to me in the big field, was Phillip playing baseball with a few of his friends, along with his 'fangirls' admiring him from the side.

I was minding my own business, occasionally looking up, when someone called my name. "Ay (Y/N)!"

I looked up to see Phillip motioning at me and the chicks glaring at me.

"Yeah Hamilton?"

"Baseball?" he asked, hitting the palm of his hand with the bat he was holding.

I shook my head. "Ohhhh... no thank you."

"Too scared to lose? C'monnnn!"

I tucked my paper back in my binder. "Fine. You're on, Hamilton."

Phillip smirked as I stood up and walked over. He patted my shoulder, much to the girls' dismay. I tried to hide my blush as he handed me the bat. "You're up."

One of his friends tossed him the baseball as he walked back to pitch. "Ready?"

"Ready as I'll ever be. Let's just get this done and over with," I responded.

Phillip chuckled and threw the ball quickly. I swung the bat and the ball flew with a satisfying 'CRACK'. Phillip looked shocked as I smirked. This would be funner than I thought.

I ran across the home plate swiftly, without getting myself out. I turned to Phillip. "Take that, Hamilton! I won!"

Phillip ran a hand through his dark, curly hair. "Damn. Since when could you play baseball?"

"Since... almost forever. Nobody needed to know though so, they didn't."

Phillip walked over to me. "Those are some skills you have there, (Y/N). I'm impressed."

I laughed a bit. "No need for flattery, Hamilton. I see it enough with you."
