(Fire Emblem: Robin X Male Reader)

(Your POV)

“Gods, I hate this.”
“Oh come on, it’s not that bad.”

“Not that bad? I think we agreed you are the brains between us.”

“You make it sound like you are dumb. Now shush up and hold these.”

I held out my arms as the odd, yet heartwarming Tactician of the Shepherds Robin put a pile of books in my arms. They didn’t way much to me, despite how thick each book was. Robin and I browsed through the many books, she looking for any sort of tomes, strategy books and the like. While I was mostly here as just to carry said books back and while I wasn’t the one for literature, I guess I didn’t mind it So much if I was with my wife. Yeah, we’re married.

Robin pulled out a book from one shelf and flipping through the pages, she came across one that was full art. “Awww, (FN) come look.” I walked over and set the stack down on a table, which groaned a bit from the sudden weight. I looked over her shoulder and I saw what she was looking at.

The picture was of a nice looking maiden, helping up a rather gruff and somewhat bleeding soldier. “Heh, kinda reminds me of when we first met.” I said. “Same.” Robin said.

(Flashback)

I had heard about the rising undead, and knowing a town close to where we were currently staying, I headed out there alone to help the others. It was a dumb idea, but then again I wasn’t known for the best ideas. When I arrived, it was calm and quiet for a bit, only to then for the undead began to rise. There was a small guard here, so I wasn’t fighting alone, but I did manage to run off from them into the horde.

“C’mon! I’ll crush you all!!” I brought my Axe down on another Risen. After about a hour, I was already feeling tired. That was when I got knocked over by one. It growled and raised it’s sword, but then a bolt of lightening went through it. Soon after that was she popped into view. “You alright?” She asked, her hand outstretched.

I looked at her for a second, somewhat entranced by her. “Um….hello?” I blinked before taking her hand and getting up. “Um...sorry. Thanks.” I said. “(FN).” I jumped at the voice and let out a nervous laugh as Chrom walked over. “Hey Captain.” I said. Chrom sighed and shook his head. “I figured I would find you here.” He said.

“Right. Bit let me explain.” I began. “I knew this town was near by, and with the rumors of the dead rising, I thought I would come and check on it. I know it had a guard, and it was pretty close to the Capital, but still. Anyway I got out here, and before long the Risan began showing up. I assembled the guard…..but then ran off into the horde of undead.” I said, all rather fast.

“I figured that was your reasoning. I just want to know why you didn’t take anyone with you?” Chrom asked.

“Because M’lord, (FN) is a Wild Card.” Frederick said, walking up with his spear in hand.

“Wild Card?” Robin asked.

“Yes. (FN) is known quite well among us as the “Wild Card.”” Chrom said.

“It’s because the man has little regard for following a set plan, and rather run off into the heat of battle with his axe held high like a Bandit.” Frederick said and I let out a chuckle.
“Hey, not my fault I love being in the thick of the battle. Besides, how often have I been the line breaker?” I said.

“True, there is a saying among the Shepherds. Well, there are many, but one is “Just follow (FN).”” Chrom said, his serious demeanor now fading.
