(Fate: Jack the Ripper X Father Reader)

(Your POV)

I yawned as my alarm began to go off. I turned it off and began to sit up in bed, when I felt the figure next to me move. I smiled as I moved my hand and gently pet the young servant’s head. Jack moved a bit, but was still asleep, clinging to my hand as a child would her mother. Mommy, that is what I became to Jack. Well, I mean I am a man. But she only wanted a mother, and so, I became one in a sense. It’s weird, but I like it.

My summoning of Jack was by mistake in all honesty, and while at first I was offset by the fact the infamous Jack the Ripper to be a Wraith made of the souls of dead Children, but in time I came to love Jack, in a fatherly way. It probably helped to clinged to me as her mother, so it wasn’t long before I would make sure to keep her safe, and she would do the same, though I wouldn’t need it really.

See, I was a Vampire, a child of the night. I was made into a Vampire in the late 1800s, by my own request of course. I was a Mage before my transformation, and I saw becoming a Vampire as a means to not only live forever, but also to keep studying magic. So, after becoming a Vampire, I spent my years learning more magic and enjoying the benefits of Vampiric life. Then it wasn’t until learning about the existence of Servants, that I decided to try and summon one, since by now I was aware that maybe Magi would come to hunt me down. But of course, I summoned Jack and instead of Summoning a protector, I ended up Summoning the girl I would call my child.

So now that is how I live my days. Studying magic and taking care of Jack. Maybe I will find her a real Mother. (Wink Wink~)

I guess while I was remanessing, Jack stirred awake and was rubbing her eyes as she yawned. “What time is it Mommy?” She asked and I looked at my phone. “It’s 7 PM, or a bit past.” I said as Jack stretched and I found it cute when she used my shirt as a nightgown. Kissing her forehead, I got out of bed. “I’ll get you some breakfast and take you out. Tonight is a special night.” I said and Jack nodded. “Okay mommy.” She said and I walked out of my room.

We lived in a modest house, one that I found a few months ago, and while I didn’t carry much, just in case we are found, I don’t think any Magi would find us. I opened the fridge and pulled out a some food for Jack. Since I myself only drink blood, what I had was more for Jack then me. And what I had would be Human hearts. Supplies Jack with a nice mana boost, apart from the mana I had for her on my own mana. (Not that way.)

Jack came down as I was finishing up her breakfast. I sat it down as she began to eat with that child glee. Seeing it, made my heart only flutter as I set the dirty dishware in the sink and walked over to Jack. I sat beside the girl and watched her eat. She smiled at me. “So, what are we doing today mommy?” Jack asked.

“Well, I thought you and I go out and have a little fun. See, tonight is halloween.” I said and she cocked her head. “Halloween?” She asked. “Yup. See, it’s this whole sort of, festival. Where people dress up, go about getting candy, and just have fun. I haven’t really celebrated it, but I thought it would be fun for the both of us.” I said. “What do you say, sounds fun?”

“Of course! Anything with mommy is fun!” Jack said. “Great. Then once you are done, we can get out your costume.” I said and Jack looked at me. “Costume?” She asked. “You’ll see.” I said and walked into the next room. I took out from the closet the box with Jack’s costume, and wet back down stairs. Before long Jack had finished and I set the box down.

I nodded and Jack opened it. Inside was the Vampire Costume I made for her. Hey, you have hundreds of years to learn a few things other than magic. Jack took out the costume and looked at it. “What is it?” She asked. “Well, while it is a bit cliche, it’s a Vampire Costume.” I said and Jack lit up hearing the word Vampire. “So I get to be like Mommy?!” She said and I nodded. “In a way. You won’t be able to do some of the things I do, but then again you are a powerful little girl aren’t you.” I said and patted Jack’s head. She hugged me and I hugged her back.

“Is mommy going to dress up?” She asked and I nodded. “I will. Though, I don’t think you will know who I am.” I said. Since I don’t think Jack is aware of what people think she is. “But since it’s almost time. Why don’t we get dress and head out?” I said, earning a cheer from Jack as she ran upstairs to get dressed. I did the same, being downstairs as I put on the 1860’s clothing. Yeah, I was going as what people thought Jack the Ripper was.

After a few minutes, Jack came down dressed in her Vampire Costume. She saw me in my costume and looked me up and down. “What do you think?” I asked. “Mommy looks funny.” She said. “But we think you look nice!” Jack said. I smiled. “Well, you see Jack, I look like you, or, a you people think you are.” I said and explained to Jack who everyone thought Jack the Ripper was. At first she seemed a bit confused, but soon got the idea and even understood the costumes. “So, Mommy is us, and we are Mommy.” Jack said and I nodded. Jack smiled and once again hugged me.

(Few minutes later)

Me and Jack were now out and walking about. For Jack, she was being rather happy with holding my hand and even getting candy from people. Seeing the look on Jack’s face was always warming to my rather dead heart. Though, I could feel hunger peck a bit, but nothing to bad. We were both walking down one street, and I saw all the other children and their parents running about having fun. It felt peaceful this, me and Jack holding hands, being not Vampire Mage and Killer Spirit, but instead loving father and his cute daughter.

But then of course that didn’t last long. I soon spotted a man among the crowd, looking at us. The look in his eyes, it was one I got. A hunter finding the hunted. I chuckled to myself and gently squeezed Jack’s shoulder. “Hey Jack, mommy is feeling a bit hungry, and I think I found a meal.” I said and Jack looked to see the man and she smiled. “Another hunter?” She asked and I nodded. “Yeah. Let’s get him away from everyone else.” I walked away with Jack and soon found ourselves in a secluded area of town. One of it’s many random alleyways, where no one would stumble across us.

(Third Person)

The hunter walked down the alley. Of course, he wasn’t the only one. A woman followed him suite and soon the pair are down the alley. “Where are they?” The woman asked. “I don’t know. I saw them come down this way, they have to be over here.” The man said and both were soon back to back. That was when the fog came. Both Hunters knew this was Jack’s work, so both got out their guns. These weapons were magically enhanced, so that way if either one were shot,  it was going to hurt like hell.

But it didn’t matter as before long, (FN) popped down, and in the moment it took for both humans regester him, (FN) had the man by his throat, a quick squeeze with nails digging into the man’s throat, blood trickling down.

The woman swung around to hit (FN), but Jack was on top of her before she could move. Jack’s knives dug into the woman’s shoulder, before the small girl then lodged her dagger into the woman’s throat.

“Heh, nice try, but you can send the army and it will never work.” He said and bit into the man as Jack sat on the woman as she died, soon going to work as she dug into the woman’s chest. (FN) on the other hand finished off his meal and dropped the body, wiping his mouth. “Heh, not bad.” He said and saw as Jack finished her work, noticing she had on her normal attire, meaning she put the costume somewhere else. (FN) walked over to her and put a hand Jack’s back. “Come on, we should get going.” I said. Jack nodded, but not before heading back up her spot and grabbing her costume, not letting any blood touch it as the pair went home.

(Your POV)

I put away our costumes as Jack sat at the kitchen table, the contents of her bag out as she looked at all the treats. I sat across from her as Jack sifted through the contents. “Does mommy want any?” She asked. I gently shook my head. “I am afraid I can’t.” I said and Jack nodded, before going through more contents.

I let out a happy sigh, seeing how this night was pretty good. Despite the attack, or, not really attack. It was more of a stop by the burger joint. It wasn’t long before Jack had least a few pieces, before I began taking some. “Here, why don’t we save these for later. Don’t want a belly ache.” I said and Jack shook her head. I stood up and walked over to the TV in the house, While I didn’t have cable or anything, I did have a small collection of movies. I figured what better way to end the night. Knowing Jack, I picked out something rather bloody. I sat on the couch and soon I felt Jack sit next to me, putting her head on my lap.

As the movie began, I gently pet Jack’s head as she nuzzled into my thigh. “I love you mommy.” She said as I rubbed her cheek. “I love you too Jack.” I said.
