(Akiza’s POV, Flashback)
I sat on the roof of the Duel Academy, hugging my knees and hiding my face. Monster. That is all they called me, and they are right. I am one. “Thought I find you up here.” I looked up and saw the only person to never call me one, (FN). He sat down next to me, his legs crossed as he leaned forward. “Why aren’t you afraid of me?” I asked, looking away from him. “What is there to be afraid of?” He asked.
“I can bring Duel Monsters to life out of my rage!” I shouted and looked at him, tears streaming down my face. (FN) moved his hand up and wiped the tears from my face. “And? I think that’s pretty cool. Besides, what friend would I be if I just left you alone in this state?” He said and I looked at him surprised. “What?” I asked.
He smiled and put his hand on my shoulder. “Yeah. I mean, you can not think of me as one. But considering I try my best to get you to open up, and I been seen with you a lot, people just assume I am your friend. Course, that comes with its own rumors, but nevermind that. Point is even if you don’t think so, you and I are friends.” He said and I couldn’t believe my what I heard. I just looked away from him and I just buried my face again. He scooted closer, this time wrapped an arm around me. “Don’t worry, I will never leave you.” He said.
(Flashback ends)
“Hey, you in there?” I jumped as I left my thoughts and looked up. (FN) stood there, a smile on his face. Ever since leaving the Duel Academy, (FN) kept his word and followed behind me like he said. I felt a little bad, but yet I was happy he was still beside me. (FN) had a lollipop in his mouth as he leaned against the wall. “So, what’s on your mind?” He asked.
“Nothing really.” I lied.
“So you are sitting here with e “Deep Thought” face for no reason?” He asked.
“Do I have one?” I asked.
“Everyone has one, and of course it only shows if they are on a deep thought path.”
“Is that the only reason why you are over here?”
“Nope. Actually, I came to invite you out to something.”
I felt a blush crept up on my face. “R-really?”
“Yeah, you been looking down lately, so I thought I try to cheer you up. And I happen to have something in mind.” He reached into his back pocket and pulled out a flyer. “The local museum is opening a exhibit on ancient plants. Bunch of fossils and stuff. After that, I thought we check out a sweet shop I had my eye on.” (FN) said. I looked at the flyer before deciding. I mean, it wouldn’t hurt right? “Sure, I wouldn’t mind going out tomorrow.” I said and (FN) smiled. “Sweet, then meet me in the parking garage tomorrow and we will head out.” (FN) said and winked at me before walking away.
I had the blush return, and I sighed. No, stop. He can’t like you, not a monster like me….but yet, why would he do all of this for me? Give up his future for me and…. I let out a sigh and went to my room. My thoughts still on (FN).
(Next day, Your POV)
I stood by my bike as I waited for Akiza. I was a bit nervous, since I basically asked Akiza out on a deck. I knew she had a issue with herself esteem, mainly her ability, but I always did my best to let her know that someone was always by her side no matter what. She could level a whole block and I would still defend her, and besides, who doesn’t love a little mayhem? I heard the elevator door open as Akiza walked towards me. Gods, she is beautiful.
