*Meanwhile in the conference room...*
"That was so heartbreaking..."
"Yeah, it was tough to watch..."
"To watch? How did you think she felt? Poor Reece..."
"We should've pulled her out sooner."
"I can't imagine what she's going through."
"She's okay, that's all that matters, right?"
"Definitely."
"But is she okay mentally?"
"..."

Peter and I walk into the conference room and everyone immediately turns to look at us. And for a split second, everything is silent. "Reece!" Thor's the first one to react, standing from his chair and making his way over to me to engulf me in a hug.
"Hi." I laugh at his reaction, patting him on the back in our hug.
"You're okay?" Loki asks just to make sure as Thor pulls away.
"Yes." I assure him with a firm nod. Thor then grabs my wrist and pulls me into the open chair that was next to his. Peter finds himself an open chair across from me and takes a seat, never taking his eyes off of me, as everyone else in the room.
"Even though you're deaf in one ear?" Vision points out and everybody remains silent, waiting for my reaction.
"It'll be hard to hear this side of the room." I motioned to the left. "But besides that, it's all good." I nod firmly. Peter makes direct eye contact with me just then. I sometimes forget that he sees right through me... Good thing I could see through him too.
"Alright, let's get started." Tony announces, standing at the front of the room. "You did good today, Reece." He acknowledges first.
"Yeah, when you saved Peter..." Nat begins. "That was remarkable. I didn't exactly quite know what your powers were until that moment."
"That's a damn good useful power you got there." James agrees, nodding along with the rest of the Avengers.
I nod back, a shy smile on my face. "Thank you."
"Your mother..." Loki begins, but I immediately cut him off.
"I'm gonna stop you right there. She isn't my mother." I inform everybody, but keeping my eyes directly on Loki's. "From now on, we only refer to her as Lea."
Loki hesitates, but then nods firmly. "Okay... that's fair. Lea," He begins again. "has powers?"
I shake my head, shrugging. "I'm just as confused as you are."
"I'm still trying to figure that out too..." Tony comments, thinking intensely.
"Also, they've been watching me?" I bring it up because I'm still kinda freaking out about that.
"Oh, I've got my people on that. Don't worry, Hydra won't be able to watch you anymore." Tony assures me, in attempt to make me feel better. I guess that does help a little, but that still won't change the fact they were watching my every move.
"They got a ton of information, Tony." Bruce points out and I'm actually happy he does.
"I know, I know..." Tony shakes his head, as if angry with himself for letting this happen. "So as of right now, we need Reece to keep a low profile." He looks over at me with a stern look on his face. "School, here, and your apartment: that's it. No after school actives, no restaurants, no more late night adventures, no anything... You're officially on lockdown."
"Wait, what?" I begin to argue. "That's not fair."
"We're trying to protect you Reece." Tony reminds me before I could further explain my protest.
"I promise you we're not trying to ruin your life." Natasha adds, a sympathetic look on her face.
"Fine." I respond, deciding that I didn't have a well enough argument. "What about Peter's apartment?"
"Sure." Tony shrugs. "But that's it... Meanwhile, the rest of us are going to try and figure this out." Tony explains, talking to the rest of the Avengers. "We're going to get any and all information and bring Lea down."
I then raise my hand, as if I were in school. Tony rolls his eyes, gazing in my direction. "Yes?"
"So, you're benching me? I get to do nothing?"
"Again, this is to keep you safe." Tony argues. "You too, Peter."
Peter turns in his chair to face Tony, this super shocked and confused look on his face. "Wait... Me?" He asks, pointing at himself. Tony nods, that 'no-duh' look on his face. "Seriously?!" Peter complains, just as annoyed and upset as I am.
"We've been benched!" I announce to Peter, quite loudly.
"Unbelievable!" Peter agrees, crossing his arms.
"Why do you still have your tights on?" Thor then asks Peter just before Tony could tell Peter and I to stop being such irresponsible children.
"Okay, they're not tights. It's a suit." Peter explains and now I'm dying of laughter and soon the entire room is—except Tony.
"Okay, I give up." Tony announces, tossing the pen he was holding behind him. "This meeting is over."
~~~
"Wait." I was saying goodbye to Tony, Peter and I about to leave to go back home; Happy would be driving us. But Tony stops us before we could leave. "Here."
He jogs up to me, holding a tiny tan colored device in his hand. I raise my eyebrows in confusion. "What's this?" I ask as he places it in the center of my palm.
"A hearing aid. Top of the charts, special technology... You should be able to hear out of your left ear with this." Tony explains, shoving his hands into his front pockets.
My jaw actually drops at that moment. "Seriously?" Was all I could think to say in all my shock and awe.
Tony chuckles at my reaction, nodding. "Seriously."
I quickly shoved the hearing aid into my ear and asked Peter to say something. "Something." He responds with, being the smart ass that he is.
And Tony Stark was right. I could hear out of my left ear once I put the hearing aid in and turned it up to full max. And it was like the whole world was clear again, as if I had just put on some glasses I never knew I needed.
And I never let him forget how thankful I was of him for this.
