(3rd Person POV)

Peter Parker wasn't handling this situation well at all. He was freaking out at every little thing, which was why Tony Stark wasn't. He had to remain calm for Peter because he knew they both can't be freaking out; Reece would most definitely yell at him for it later.

But there was still that voice in the back of his head, telling him that everything might not end okay this time. Reece was stabbed and lost a lot of blood... she had a fifty/fifty chance at living at this point. But even if she does live past this, she'll never be able to comprehend the fact that her mother had killed herself just after stabbing her own daughter.

Everything's going to be messy all over.

And don't even get him started on Peter. That kid's going to die from worrying too much about that girl.

As the day slowly drifted on, all of the Avengers still huddled in that waiting room, Peter had fallen asleep in his chair, his head against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest. And Tony made sure no one woke him up. He needed his rest. He needed to calm down.

Peter had still been asleep even when Reece's doctor walked into the room, being about a hour and a half later. "Reece Healy's family?" The doctor announced. And just as she looked up from her clipboard, everyone in the room stood up. She raised a single eyebrow, scanning everyone in the room. "You're all Reece Healy's family?"

Tony then took a step forwards, his hands folded behind his back. "I'm her father."

The doctor nods slowly, glancing back down at her clipboard. "Okay... Um, I'm Doctor Bell, I preformed Reece's emergency procedure. She has been out of surgery for about an hour now and seems to be stable, although she's still unconscious. If she wakes up, we want to monitor her for forty two hours to ensure that there's no internal bleeding."

"Wait." Tony stops the doctor from any further explanation, raising his eyebrows in confusion. "Did you say if she wakes up?"

Doctor Bell bites her lip, nodding slowly. "The cut was deep, damaging some major organs along the way. Reece also has lost a lot of blood. But I can assure you that my staff and I are doing everything we can. But at this point, it's a matter of if she wants to wake up or not." She explains, never bothering to sugar coat her response.

"Way to be blunt, Doctor." James comments, staring wide eyed at Doctor Bell.

She shakes her head. "I'm just trying to be honest. But she has made it this far. She's a strong girl. And I do wholeheartedly believe that she will wake up from this."

At this point, Tony's mind was still on the if part of the conversation. He didn't like that word. A 'maybe' wasn't good enough for him and never will be. But right now, he just wanted to see Reece.

"So... You can go see her now. But let's start off with just the nuclear family first." Doctor Bell decides, glancing around the room before her eyes meet Tony's once more.

Tony nods slowly, agreeing. "Should I wake Peter up?" Thor then asks, talking softly.

Tony looks back at him and shakes his head. "No, let him sleep." He decides before looking back at Doctor Bell. "It's just me, then."

"Okay." She responds softly, giving Tony a small smile. "Come with me." And she leads Tony out of the waiting room and down a long, dark hall until they reached an open door at the end of it. "After you." Doctor Bell insists, acknowledging the room before them.

Tony takes a deep breath, peering into the room before he slowly begins to enter it. He's afraid of what he's about to see. Not afraid of Reece, but of the condition she'll be in. Afraid of losing her.
