146. Real Life

Today marked little Jedediah's two month birthday and for his parents Chris and Evelyn it has been a crazy ride. So much has happened in those two months  that it feels surreal to think that in just two days the long awaited crossover event will air. Filming for the event has been long and tiring with Evelyn having to be on set for hours on end filming with the cast. Rumors have even began circulating that due to the filming schedules and Evelyn hardly being home that Chris and Evelyn were having marital problems with some even stating that due to them barely being rodent that Chris has been cheating which the couple and anyone who knows them think it's stupid for news articles and shows to asumes such allegations.

A few days ago while Evelyn had gone to film and Chris and gone to the store with their son, paparazzi had followed him and began firing questions about Evelyn and if it was true that he and Evelyn were separated or if he was angry that his wife was working while he was staying home with their son but Chris ignored him and did his shopping keeping the baby's face hidden as he could tell that the pap wanted to take a photo of the baby.

"Dude get that shit out of my face" Chris cursed at the paparazzi as he walked out of the grocery store with little Jedediah strapped against his chest as he carried a few bags to the car.

"Can I just get one picture of him" the male had asked and Chris clenched his jaw keeping the baby hidden

"Seriously get the fuck away from me before I call the cops" Chris said as he unlocked his car and put the bags inside 

"Just one" the pap asked with a pleading voice but was yet again denied and a second later a back SUV pulled up and Chris had sighed in relief seeing his body guards stepping out of the vehicle pushing the nagging paparazzi away as they shouted questions and shot photo after photo of the actor.

It's now been a week since the incident and Chris has barely gone out on his own without his bodyguards in tow to keep the paparazzi away. Evelyn also has gotten bombarded with questions regarding her and Chris's relationship but she like Chris have refused to give the rumors any time of day. The pair have been married for a solid 10 months now and are the happiest they can be raising their baby.

"I swear if I get asked what my thoughts about you and Chris getting a divorce one more time I'm going to punch someone" Ian said one night as Evelyn and Chris FaceTimed him and Nina as the kids slept

"You're not the only one" Chris said as he rested his head against the headboard with Evelyn leaning against him as she held the phone up so the pair on the other screen could see him

"Where did they even get that idea from anyway?" Nina asked confused as she leaned leaned on Ian who held the phone up

"Heck if we know Neens" Evelyn sighed exasperated with this whole thing, "It literally started a little over three weeks ago and we don't even know who even invented that lie"

"I'm sure that it'll blow over eventually like remember when it happened to us? It happened when we had Phoenix and the tabloids began writing shit about us breaking up" Ian said

"It was ridiculous" Evelyn replied, "like say that yes, we are getting a divorce but that downer mean that we want the whole world to know because that's something between Chris and I and if we do decide to share that then that's our decision"

"Agreed" Nina stated with a nod

"We literally can't even go to the store on our own without having paparazzi following us and asking why we're not together or if the rumors about us ending our marriage is true. It's frustrating" Chris said

"Ditto. Like have you not heard about kids? Like do they expect the kids to be on their own while we go out? We don't have nannies to watch them because it's nobody else's job to watch our kids but ours because we are their parents" Nina said shaking her head

"Exactly and another thing is that they keep harassing us with wanting a photo of Jed's face" Evelyn commented in frustration

"You're not the only ones. We barely go out because of that and if we do we have to make sure we're not being followed and we have to keep the kids covered or hidden from view if we spot a photographer lurking" Ian said

"God I sometimes wish we weren't famous so our lives wouldn't be on the spotlight 24/7" Evelyn muttered with a sigh as her brother gave her a small smile while Nina nodded in agreement and Chris kissed her head

"Couldn't agree more with you sis, but this is our lives and whether we like it or not we have to deal with paparazzi and rumors for the rest of our lives" Ian said and Evelyn groaned

"Ugh I hate this" she groaned

"We all do Evie but we signed up for this when we began acting" Nina replied, "but the good thing is that once you're done filming the show you, Chris and Jed are flying out to Louisiana yo spend time with us so that should be a little consolation for you"

"I seriously can't wait to get out of here even if it's for a few weeks" Evelyn said and Chris modded his agreement

"How many more episodes do you need to film?" Ian questioned

"Not much really. We're currently in the middle of filming the crossover event that's due to air on the 9th" Evelyn said and Ian nodded

"So about three more regular episodes before the crossover one right?" Nina asked

"Yeah and that'll be the mid-season finale before winter break which will mean Chris, Jed and I will fly out to Louisiana for the holidays"  Evelyn answered

"Phoenix is excited to have you guys over. He wouldn't stop running around the house screaming that his favorite uncle and aunt were coming over with his favorite cousin" Ian chuckled and Evelyn couldn't help but awe at that. The two couples talked a bit more before they decided to call it a night one because it was already late and two because both Kailani and Jedediah woke up crying so with a wave goodbye and a see you in a few weeks Ian and Chris both hung up while Nina and Evelyn  went got the babies from their cribs by the bed

"Shh you're alright" Evelyn cooed as she picked the wailing baby and carried him to the bed while Chris went over to grab a clean diaper and some wipes. Once the diaper had been changed Jed, who's cries were reduced to sniffles calmed down and not a moment later, he was fast asleep again and Evelyn smiled kissing his forehead and carried him back to his crib and gently laid him down before walking back to bed and climbing in.

"Alright let's get some sleep because we have a long day tomorrow" Chris said and she hummed laying down and resting her head on his chest

"Night love you"she murmured and he pulled her closer kissing her head

"Love you too, sweetheart"
