Tae's parents are ashamed that their child is deaf. Tae is ashamed that he's deaf, so he gets by reading people's lips, keeping his headphones in, and limiting human contact. Jungkook just won't leave him alone.
Jungkook is a sweetheart. He falls in love with Tae, he learns sign language, protects Tae, and encourages Tae to have hope that hearing aids might work.
