Days, weeks, months went by and eventually it's already the last day of summer break. Everything calmed down in Riverdale and it seemed just like your normal American small town.
Sweet Pea and I are closer then ever, we both had our fair share of craziness and it feels great to just be a normal couple. Most of our holiday was spent down at the beach or some lake with the other serpents.
It was my first summer in Riverdale and it was pretty sunny and hot compared to the rainy, cold or snowy other time of the year, and I even got a little tanned.
~Monday morning
I wake up to the annoying sound of my alarm, definitely not missed this these last months. A little groan coming from sweet pea I turn around to turn off the alarm. Choose your outfit:

"Hey guys, how was your summer?" I enter the student lounge where Jug, Betty, Kevin and Veronica sitting on Archies leg greet me. "My dad booked a trip to Nevada with Josie and her mom. Was alright" Kevin starts rewinding his vacation "We visited Polly and the twins in San Francisco" Betty smiling "My parents and I tanned at the beach of Aruba. The voyage by ship was very pleasant" Ronnie leans back "Well I worked on my new car with my dad all summer" "Sounds great Arch, so you can drive us everywhere now" I laugh
"So what do you have next?" Betty wonders "Politics and economy and then history" I groan "Same here" Jug raises his hand "I feel like I need to go on a break again" Archie whines "Why not? Archikins, remember the lake house at shadow lake I told you about" Veronica sits up
"In about 3 weeks we have a long weekend..." Kevin raises his eyebrows "but I won't be able to attend because... moose and I..." "Understood" Betty chuckles "Guess it'll be a couples only thing then" Veronica winks at betty and Jughead "Julia, you and Sweet Pea?" Now looking at me "ehm sure" I force out a smile
"Fair warning. Our Shadow Lake chalet is rustic, but it has breath-taking views of the mountains, the water Oh, my God." V strolls down memory lane when the bell rings and brings her back to reality "So friends, three weeks we can stand this"

Mr. Abernathy explaining something about segregation in the south "Sweets" my voice overly cute, he looks at me "Hmm?" "Ronnie offered to take us to her families lake house over the weekend. U in?" I bite my lips in excitement
"A lake house?" He whispers frowning his eyebrows "Yeah, Varchie, Bughead you and me. Why don't we have a cute ship name?" I trail of "Because your name isn't good for that" smirking "My name? Excuse me but you're called sweet pea" I know he's joking but come on "Jeet pea?" He laughs and I can't hold myself "Noo" I start laughing "Julia, can I help you?" Mr. Abernathy interrupts "No I'm alright" I get my act together
"Back to the topic" leaning closer to sweet pea "in 3 weeks is our anniversary, just the two of us on a balcony looking over that weird lake" I paint a picture "Sounds great as long as you're there" giving me a peck on the forehead and I return to focus on segregation.
Those three weeks went by at a snail's pace but finally I sit on the floor of our bedroom packing my bag. Half an hour later the six of us sit in the lodges car being driven to shadow lake by andré.
We arrive at the hut, but let's face it its more like a castle, I get out of the car and take in the scenery. Breathtaking. Sweet Pea walks up behind me snail's his arms around my waist and rest his head on my shoulder "Damn they filthy rich"
"When I was younger, we used to come here every summer, whenever my dad could sneak away for a weekend" Veronica and Archie walk to the side of the road to look over shadow lake.
Now Bughead walks around the car "Veronica wasn't kidding. It really was the last house on the left" Jughead looking around
"I'll help you with the bags" Andre starts lifting the luggage out of the trunk "oh no, we've got it" Ronnie chirps turning around "Archie?" Her head nodding in direction of her tons of bags
"TTFN, Andre. See you Sunday night at 7 p.m. and not a second earlier" v points at Andre before taking bettys and my hand "wait till you see the inside"
"Oh, my god" betty and I admire astonished and Veronica chuckles The boys following close behind us "Welcome to what I humbly like to call" v spins around to face us "Lodge Lodge" she laughs
We all settle in our rooms Sweet Pea and I walk through the door and I fall down on the bed sweet pea sitting next to me "this bed is great" I'm amazed by how soft it is "Yeah but what happens in the bed is even greater" he smirks and places a kiss on my lips. I sit up to continue until
"Oh my god" I pull away to the sound of a bed rattling and squeaking in the room next to us "Are they...?" "Yeah and we could too you know" he starts getting closer again, his one hand on my head the other one leaning on the bed "No, I cant" I start laughing and he sighs
We continued to unpack and when we were finished we headed downstairs to see Varchie already sitting at the table. I have to pull myself together but im unable to resist and give them an evil smirk.
Behind us Bughead appears "You heard that too?" Sweet Pea complains "Indeed" jug whispers "Ah there you are, because you haven't tried my jalapeño margaritas yet" Ronnie walks into the kitchen "who wants one?" We sit down in the living room as I wrap myself up in a blanket
"I would like to propose a toast" Jughead stands up "to the lodges, their hospitality, and to putting the past behind us. "Cheers" we raise our glasses
"So, do your parents come up here a lot these days, veronica?" Jug questions "Not as much as they'd like. Daddy's such a workaholic." Ronnie explains "On the SoDale project?" He probes for some more details as v nods "How is that going? Is it heating up? Getting intense?"
In my opinion this is not the best topic to discuss at a romantic get-away and I sense some weird vibes coming from Jughead. But v doesn't and just answers "It is. Luckily, Archies dad is doing a superb job of keeping everything in schedule"
Betty, obviously not feeling too comfortable, changes the topic "V, tell us more about your fancy neighbors" but her attempt fails "Yeah, are they in the same business as your dad?" Jug adds
"Jughead. I mean it" betty whispers "Guys, what's up?" Archie shaking his head lightly in confusion "Betty, I'm just making idle conversation. I'm sorry please continue" facing Veronica again
V continues talking about her father's business but the whole atmosphere is very tense. I look up to meet sweet peas eyes "What the fuuck" I murmur. Sweets shrugs his shoulders with a disgusted expression on his face.
"Shadow lake is a very private community" I catch the ending of Ronnie explanation "Like hiding something?" Jughead sits up "Jughead, this isn't 20 questions" I laugh trying to lighten up the mood and maybe stop this awful interrogation but I must have triggered Ronnie who is whispering with arch now.
"I'm sensing some tensions but fear you not, though" Ronnie smiles "i have just the antidote. Step one, clothes off, swimsuits on."
