Chapter 21| Ri and Zerø

The Next Day: Your POV
It was raining. Hard. Scratch that, POURING! It was just sunny a minute ago! Like what the hell? And guess what? I don't have a fucking umbrella either, so that's great!

Years before, I would always be in the air, next to the clouds. With the wind pushing my hair back, and where nobody except me and some of them were. Where birds looked at me like I was some type of flying freak. Where the wind ruffled my feathers-ish. Where I soared with them. Being airborne was when I felt alive.

But again, that was years before.

Now, I can't. I miss it, a crap ton. Now, the closest thing to it was lying on the rooftops.

I stuffed my mouth with bunch of beef jerky leftovers from a few days ago, snacking on it as I went looking for my school bag. Which was a dark grey color and a little bit better than my mini one that I always take with me.

Taking a deep breath, I sprinted. I was feeling crappy already.
—Hero Department: Class 1-A

They were all talking about the sports festival a few days ago. All busy chatting away, Urakaka was telling me how great I did. I told her thanks, but deep inside, I knew that I'll need to work harder than I am now to reach the title, pro hero.

Cause all the other damn kids were good at being Prince Charming/Princess and hero.

"Oi, Ri, what the hell are you glaring at?" Bakugou asked. I snapped out of it to find myself staring at Katsu the entire time, who sat behind me.

"Nothing." I replied, feeling myself heating up a bit, and turned around.

"Admiring my looks?" I practically heard him smirking behind me.

"You wish, I seen cuter and definitely fucking hotter. But, you're a pretty cute Hedgehog, gotta admit." I threw back with a lopsided grin.

There was some 'ouch! That burns!' And 'ohhhhs!' Just like in the movies, the minute things were getting spicy, Aizawa walked in the classroom. With this bandages off. I still had a pool of guilt and felt responsible for the bandages.

"Morning."

"Good morning! Aizawa-Sensei, I'm glad that you got your bandages off!" Tsuyu said.

"The old lady made it more serious than it was. Anyways, today's class is a bit special, I must say." Aizawa announced, scratching under his eye.

Almost immediately, I thought of those damn quizzes. I took a few in my other classes before, I didn't fail, but boy, are those stressful. But what the hell are we going to be tested on? We straight up had that sports festival last week!

What the fuck was I suppose to study?! Or at least fake it?

"We'll going to be formulating your codenames, or hero names you may say."

I swore everyone stood up and cheered for it. Aizawa went on with the votes from the sports festival of popularity according to the pros.

Todoroki, 4,123. Bakugou, 3,556. Tokoyami, 360. Iida, 301. Kaminari, 272. Momo, 108. Eji, 68. Urakaka, 20, and Sero 14. And guess who was dead last? Me! I had 1.

It actually surprised me, I had a vote.

"Typically, each year's votes are more even. But this year's spot light was those two."

"1st place and 2nd place is reversed!"

"Yeahh, seeing Bakugou all retrained on the winner's podium must have scared them off!" Sero joked.
