You walked out of the cabin just as the black SUV pulls up. You put your hands into your pockets of the puffy vest you are wearing and you gripped onto your gun just in case.

"Agent Y/l/n, I brought you a buddy," Coulson said after rolling down his window.

"No way!" You said sarcastically as an agent opens the passenger door and Bear, the Saint Bernard, goes over.

Steve Rogers gets out and you go over to him as the agent grabs his bags out of the trunk.

"Captain Rogers, welcome to your new home for the next couple months," you said shaking his hand. "I'm Y/n."

"I was not expecting the woods," he said scratching the back of his head.

"Yeah, neither was I," you said.

"Tough shit," Coulson said peeling out and leaving.

"How'd you sleep?" You asked not even looking behind you as you fished.

"Didn't, ma'am," Steve said coming over.

"It's your 12th night here and you still haven't slept?" You asked looking at the super soldier blonde.

"What's the point?" He asked sitting next to you on the log.

"You look like absolute shit, Steve," you said looking him dead in the eye. "It's not a pretty look on you."

He looked at you surprised since you've been very easy on him and let him take things at his own pace. You've been really patient with him and understanding as much as you could. You've also only called him Captain or Captain Rogers or Captain America or Cap.

"I know you slept for over 70 years in the ice but that doesn't mean you don't have to skip sleeping all together. It's not healthy and you'll get stuck in your mind if you stay up all night and all day," you said. "One day it's gonna bite you in the ass and the enemy will have the upper hand. You gotta stay sharp, Cap. You are sleeping tonight whether you like it or not."

You woke up hearing crying and screaming. You get up quickly and immediately go to Steve's room. His blankets are all on the floor and he's curled up in a ball in the corner of the room.

"I don't wanna go back under!" He cried out. "I- I just want Peggy!"

You go over to him and it just breaks your heart. You crouched down in front of him and he just sobbed looking at you.

"I'm so sorry, Steve," you whispered wrapping your arms around his buff figure. "I wish I could take you back but I can't."

He just cried into your shoulder. Soon enough, you're on his bed holding him tightly in your arms with light blankets wrapped around him. He's a giant compared to you. You're average height but boy does he make you feel small. He's shaking but he doesn't like the heavy blankets since they feel like they constrict him so he only has a thin flannel sheet covering him. He sadly had cried himself to sleep.

"I'll keep you safe, Stevie," you whispered pressing your lips against his forehead and you ran your fingers through his hair. "Even from the nightmares. Sleep well."
