You and your friend, Quinn, are on the subway in your dress blues going to your best friend's funeral. You three were together in Iraq and your best friend came back in a wooden box.

"This fucking sucks," Quinn said looking around at the crowded subway.

You both are standing holding onto a pole to keep from falling.

"A-B-C-D—J-K-L-M-N-O-P—E-D-W.... Z!" A two year old said excitedly sitting on his father's lap as he holds a small little book.

You and Quinn chuckle slightly.

"What a great remix," Quinn whispered.

You gave her a sad smile and the little boy started waving at you. You gave him a salute and so did Quinn. He grinned widely and his father noticed.

"You gotta salute them back or they'll be stuck like that, little man," Sebastian whispered to his son.

His son did his best mimic the salute you both are doing. You gave him a fake smile cause that's all you been doing for the past couple of weeks. You haven't really been yourself ever since she died. You've been hurting pretty badly since then and you're just struggling to stand straight and not break down.

The train stops and you and Quinn got off. You both left the station and got up to the surface.

"I'm so fucking done," you said as tears start streaming down your face.

"Hold it in Marine, we got a couple b-blocks left," Quinn said.

"It's h-hard," you said looking up at the grey clouds in the sky.

"You fucking asshole," Quinn said looking at you.

You both just walked in silence all the way there.
