10 | DARKIEEE!!!

"Oh heyy!" I exclaim, immedietly launching myself towards Tokoyami for a hug.

He stiffs as I made contact with him but I didn't really care as I tossed my arms around him. It felt good to hug him again.

Tokoyami sighs, patting my hair as he placed a hand around me.

His actions only made me hug him more tightly.

"Please don't leave without saying anything again, okay?" I tremble slightly, remembering how depressing the past two months were without the birb boi. His red eyes looked away, feeling guilty that he made me like this. He only sighed in response.

"My deepest apologies." he finally replied after a few seconds. I pulled away, looking at him in the eye. "Why did you, anyway?" I asked, more curious now than angry. He faced away from me and plastered a sad expression on his face. "It's.... Somewhat complicated. I'd rather not share it with you at the moment." He says, feeling more guilty that he can't tell me his reasons.

I pout.

"B-But you owe mee!" I whine puffing my cheeks as my brows furrow at him.

"Sorry," he apologizes again, I just huff in response as I begin to eat my food.

My previous bad mood turned into a delighted one once the food entered the cavern of my mouth. My taste buds explode in deliciousness and in matter of milli-seconds, I was opening up my mouth for another ride.

Tokoyami chuckles at my expression as he watches me eat.

I look at him and swallow.

"Creep. Eat your own food." I hiss, scooting away from him a bit. He only chuckles again as he grabs his chopsticks and begin to eat his.

The two of us ate in comfortable silence, it was peaceful to just sit there and eat with Tokoyami.

It felt...

Refreshing.

The silence was broken when Tokoyami practically choked.

"Y/N?" A familiar voice asks, hope laced into the tone of their voice. I quickly turned to my side and basically exploded in happiness.

"DARKIEEEE!!!" Without hesitation, I hug the shadow that looked like a bird and started caressing it's head. It hugged me equally as tight as I did. "Gee! I thought I'd never see you again." Dark Shadow states in his rather blurry voice.

"Same!" I reply, giggling slightly.

"Dark Shadow!" Tokoyami yells slightly, making Dark Shadow whimper.

"Hushhh! We're having our moment." I say, hugging the shadow even tighter.

"Gosh, Fumikage. At least she cares what I feel." Dark Shadow says, looking at his owner in a smug manner. Tokoyami only grumbles as he continued to eat his food. I let go of Dark Shadow, earning a whine from him, and resumed eating.

The Shadow looks down at my food behind my shoulder and whines again, making me look at him questioningly. I realize that he was hungry as well.

I took a spoonful from my plate and raise it up to Dark Shadow. His yellow eyes sparkling in delight as he accepted my offer and swallowed it.

"I got a question, where does the food go?" I ask, getting another spoonful and shoving it into my mouth. The shadow hums.

"Dunno, probably my stomach or something." he says, laughing a bit by the idea of having an actual stomach. I giggle as well.

I noticed Tokoyami watching us discretely. Him smiling at how me and Dark Shadow interact with each other.

I squeal and grab Dark Shadow's head and direct it to Tokoyami's face. Making Dark Shadow squeal as well.

We were like girls that met their favourite artist face to face. We were fan girling or rather... Fan shadowing?

Hmm...

it seemed right

"What?" Tokoyami felt like he was missing something even though it was literally placed on his face. "You're smiling dude..!" I point out, Dark Shadow chuckling.

Tokoyami suddenly realized that he was smiling. He immedietly looked away and quickly replaced the smile with his serious face, Making me and Dark Shadow pout.

I grinned smugly as an idea popped in my head.

I got close to where Dark Shadow's ear was supposed to be and whispered, "Why is he so emo?"

"I HEARD THAT!" he yelled, smacking his chopsticks on the table. His actions making me and Dark shadow laugh loudly again. "I am certainly not an emo!" he exclaimed, making me and Dark Shadow laugh even more.

He grumbles as he took something from his pocket and waved it around.

Dark Shadow screeched and went back inside Tokoyami. I realized that Tokoyami was waving a flashlight.

"Rude!"

"Excuse me?!"

"You are excused!"

Tokoyami grumbled. I giggled as the both of us went back to eating our lunches; Tokoyami side glaring me everytime he saw me looking at him.

It only made me giggle though.

"Awww! Did I make little birb boi maddd?" I tease, winking at him once before returning to my food.

"I'm not a bird, L/N." Tokoyami corrects, biting into the apple he was holding.

I just smile at him sweetly as I finally finished my lunch.

I finished my drink as well and disposed the trash in the bin beside the table. Tokoyami doing the same as we sat there, having a few more minutes before class starts.

He sighs gently as he rubs his forehead.

"Maybe we should head back, L/N." Tokoyami suggests, standing up from his position as he waited for me.

"Y/N." I say, making him look down at me in surprise.

"Call me Y/N." I say, grabbing my guitar case and placing it behind my back, its straps around my shoulders.

"...You might as well announce me as Fumikage, seeing its only fair." Fumikage says, offering a hand.

I gladly take it as he lifted me up.

"Thanks... Fumikage." I say, very happy that I can call him by his first name now.

Though I'll have to avoid saying it in public, it'll probably make some gossips and rumours about me and him.

He looked away but I swear I saw him smile.

He let go of my hand as he lead the way back to our classroom, us having a small conversation as we walked.

Finally, peace in my mind.
