SUMMARY Brooklyn McCoy had been Sirius' best friend since even before Hogwarts. But even when they both got sorted into Gryffindor, nothing changed. In fact they only grew closer and it was no surprise to everyone else that they grew to fancy each other. But alas, nothing happened. The only thing that changed about them was the way they acted. Instead of playing Gobstones in the Gryffindor Common Room, they climbed onto the roof and smoked. Rather than making milkshakes at one in the morning, they snuck in Firewhiskey. They were both different. But then everything changed for Sirius when he met Amara Brightly. The girl who pulled him from the darkness and left Brooklyn alone in the shadows.
NOTES -Amara is a Hufflepuff in the year below Sirius and Brooklyn
-Sirius grew to be in a much darker place than just smoking and drinking. After being disowned, he just kind of spiraled. Sirius was still a player, regardless of fancying Brooklyn at a time. He started failing classes. He even grew to be disliked among other students as he started snapping at people and just being rude
-Amara was one of the few people who saw he was hurting. She did what Brooklyn couldn't and saved him. She helped him quit smoking and drinking, helped him study, and showed his friends he could be better
-Brooklyn isn't a bad person at all. She's there for Sirius and would do anything to help him, but she wasn't capable of doing what Amara could
-Fairly quickly after meeting Amara, Sirius asks her out and they start dating. Which is when Brooklyn starts getting jealous. Sirius and Brooklyn are still best friends though, so after awhile she tells him how she feels
-Which is when you get to decide who Sirius ends up with...
-This plot is inspired by people I personally know. I can't say who for the sake of privacy, but it should be noted that their fate has still been left undecided. Which is why I'm leaving it up to whoever takes the plot to choose who gets Sirius in the end
