SUMMARY
Reece never wanted to fall in love. She didn't want her happiness to depend on whether a person gave her their attention or not. She didn't want to stay up late wondering whether they are thinking about her. She didn't want to cry over someone who may not care. She didn't want to stare at her phone waiting for a text. Most importantly, she didn't want to give anyone the power to destroy her.
As far as anyone could see, Reece Dacus didn't cry. She didn't laugh fully. She didn't care. Why risk getting burned when you could just stay away from the fire?
Hogwarts and Ilvermorny decided, before the culture program for a group of Ilvermorny students to stay at Hogwarts for five months, that the students should get to know each other. Become pen pals of sorts. A letter every other day to be mailed back and forth, or a call, just some sort of communication.
And Reece had the luck to be stuck with the nosiest person ever — James Sirius Potter.
Upon going to Hogwarts, she discovers his cousin is damn beautiful though.
NOTES -okay, so, Dominique is probably quite a bit older than James, but I don't really care. Here, she's only a year older. So she's a 7th year and James and Reece are 6th years
-I know, phones don't work at Hogwarts, but it's been awhile and I think that's stupid so,,, Hogwarts can have phones and laptops and whatever. It needs to updates with the times, we don't do quills anymore
-Reece doesn't have the best experience with people. She's had friends use her, an awful relationship, but what hurt her the most was someone abandoning her bc they abandoned her without an explanation and that hurt her the most, was that she wasn't even worth an explanation
-James is ALL FOR this pen pal crap. He wants to know Reece, become her friend, he's just chaotic energy and will not leave Reece alone ( one because he can't and two bc he doesn't want to )
-James and Reece are pen pals for two months, include some letters going back and forth or have them call ( if u have them call, remember time zones )
-Reece was a really happy kid, REMEMBER THAT!!! It's like Nico di Angelo! Remember 10 year old Nico? Then The Battle of the Labyrinth Nico??? She used to be really happy but now she's really not
-James and her become friends. James is kinda like her brother
-Reece is pan
-Reece meets Dominique when she goes to Hogwarts and sticks by James' side. She interacts with the girl at an after Quidditch match party or something. Maybe they had some Ilvermorny kids play and Reece played against Dominique and scored on her or something
-Dominique sees how James is with Reece and wants to know what about her makes him so close to her in only two months
