5pm. One hour until the date.

Neru was laid on her bed, Haku downstairs, both getting growingly nervous.

Shizuko was laid by Neru's legs, purring gently. Neru pet her, whispering compliments to the cat.

The girl and her cat both jumped when there was a knock at the bedroom door.

"Come in."

"Sorry- sorry to startle you, but could I use the shower?"

"Yeah, sure. The temperature is temperamental though. The soap's in a rack. You'll find it."

"Right. Okay. Thanks,"

Haku shut the door and left. Shizuko rolled over, falling off of the bed.

"rrREOW!"

Neru laughed.

"Oh my God, get up, that's so fucking hilarious, I wish I recorded that."

Shizuko scowled and sat where she was.

"My God. Whew. That's-" Neru started laughing again.

Shizuko walked under her bed and laid down.

"Don't sulk, Shizu, come here."

Shizuko didn't.

"Fine, have it your way..."

****************

About 35 minutes had passed when Haku came into the room.

"Jesus Christ, can you knock first?!"

"Right. Sorry. I'll keep that in mind."

"Is- Is that my towel?!"

"Um, yes. Sorry. I couldn't find mine."

"I stored it away, I didn't like seeing it every time I went into my bathroom."

"What? Why?"

"When you went into hospital."

"Oh. Right. Sorry."

"Stop apologizing."

"Sorry."

"Haku, what did I just say?"

"Um, stop apologizing."

"And what did you do?"

"Apologized. So-"

"SHUT UP!"

"Please don't shout."

"Fine."

Haku picked up Neru's hairbrush.

"Can I use it?"

"Sure. Whatever."

"Thank you."

After brushing her hair, Haku left the room again. Neru sighed. She got up and went downstairs, into the kitchen. She grabbed a bag of crisps and headed back upstairs. She went back into her bedroom, leaving the door open, and sat back onto her bed.

Her phone started ringing. She picked it up.

"Hello?"

"Neru? Hello?"

"Luka?"

"Oh, hello, I need your help."

"What's up?"

"Okay, I think it's better that you come round."

"I- I can't. I'm going out in like, 20 minutes."

"Oh God, okay. That's- that's fine. I'm fine. Oh God-"
