Gavin POV

Absolutely not.

I looked down at my destroyed white pants and t-shirt.

Dirt had been covering them in a thin layer and all of the branches that had snagged my shirt caused giant holes to appear.

"Way to go." I sighed moving my toes in the grass.

My back ached from all of the sudden flying I've been doing and I was exhausted.

Which was another thing.

"Food." I mumbled.

I've never been around actual food. Real food. The kind of food that real people eat.

I laughed fluttering the pair on my back,"But you aren't normal Gav."

I sighed realizing if I just go strolling into town, someone would become suspicious of a dirt covered winged boy.

"Now what?" I asked talking to myself for the millionth time.

My feet carried me back and forth as I walked in circles until an idea clicked in my head.

I'm a bird. Right? So I'm basically a pest right?

I laughed once more while smirking before my feet stopped pacing and carried me into the outskirts of town.

They carried me all the way to the edge of the grass where I was met with small round pebbles. Gravel?

I shook it off knowing I have little knowledge of anything at all even though I'm supposed to be smarter than the average human.

I walked around a small building with many decorative things outside of it.

"Guessing this is a house?"

By far not the best house but it had what I needed.

I turned the corner slightly to check for wandering people before heading straight around it into the backyard.

Quickly hopping the fence I slowly made my way to the close line set up, strung with an assortment of things.

"Hmmmm." I mumbled tapping my finger on my chin,"What can fit wings?"

Until I heard a slight growl coming from behind me.

And let me tell you, I almost screamed.

Being so tense from the fight a few hours ago I wasn't expecting them to be back already.

"Okay Dan. You got me. Just take me ba-" I laughed,"Hi little doggy."

I faced a small brown dog with a red collar around its neck.

And he clearly didn't like me being here.

Until I heard another growl. This time a bigger dog came around the corner of the stand up shed in the middle of the yard.

"Okay. Time to go."

I quickly grabbed what I could, an assortment of big sweaters, jeans, and a pair of worn down shoes.

And I had perfect timing.

The bigger dog had come running toward me but I was already in the air.

Hovering a few feet above them I smiled, my words fading as I spoke.

"Oh you don't know what I've been through. Be lucky someone loves you."

I resided to not flying for a while, I can't have anyone trying to shoot me down thinking I'm big game or something.
