Regulus Black spent his whole life being afraid, afraid of his parents, afraid that his brother would forget about him, afraid that he would turn into a monster just like the rest of his family, and most importantly afraid of dying, because once death knocks on your door there is no second chances.
He never thought he would find someone worth loving and he certainly never thought he deserved to be loved.
But he found her and god did he love her.
Avalon Potter although not the complete opposite of her older brother, was entirely her own person. She had mind of her own and a temper to stay clear of. She was courageous beyond measure, with the memory of a dementia patient and no concept of time. She wasn't afraid of anything, not heights, or drowning, or enclosed spaces, and she wasn't afraid of monsters, especially not human ones. But more than anything she wasn't afraid of dying, because she had met death and he was patient.
Nothing could scare Avalon Potter, not even Regulus Black.
