November 20, 20XX - Thursday 'Taehyung'
"I'm an undercover cop."
Taehyung lifted his eyes slowly to meet Hoseok's.
Nothing about Hoseok's expression gave him the inclination that he was joking.
In fact, it was the complete opposite.
He was dead serious.
"You aren't going to make it out. You never were."
Taehyung's eyes fluttered, his heart dropping.
"What about Hari?" His voice came out broken, reflecting the state he was in.
Hoseok's eyes narrowed. "Do you think she's safer with you? Think about everything you have put her through in just this month. You're putting her life in danger! She needs to be in real safety. She needs a real home."
Taehyung spoke lowly, "I am her home."
Hoseok pretended not to hear him. "We're going to raid the airport. The plan is to make more than just one arrest."
"Who?" Taehyung asked, exhausted at this point.
"Everyone." Hoseok replied.
As if his heart couldn't drop any lower.
Was Hoseok really going to turn in Namjoon and Yoongi?
Was it all because of him?
Had he risked his friend's lives because he had accepted their help?
Defeated, Taehyung could do nothing but stare at Hoseok.
Until, finally, he whispered, "Understood."
Hoseok clenched his jaw.
"I'll buy more time...Not a lot, but just enough..."
Leaning in, Hoseok finished his sentence, "To do the right thing."
Taehyung dropped his eyes to the ground, moving his head in a different direction than where Hoseok stood.
Hoseok patted his shoulder before making his way out of the room, leaving Taehyung lost in his thoughts.
Taehyung had stood there for so long the room began to spin.
So he found himself dropping to the floor, rolling onto his back as he threw an arm over his eyes.
Had all this been for nothing?
He couldn't just turn himself in.
It would only mean that all the work Namjoon and Yoongi had done... was for nothing.
He couldn't do that to them.
He had to go through with it.
He would just need to protect Hari until the point he had to turn himself in.
Because after all, there was still hope.
And a single bit of hope,
was all he needed.
