Kier’s POV

Closing the door to Shane’s bedroom behind me I hurried back into my room, my cheeks a rosy pink at my previous actions while in the presence of the timid blond. Taking a deep sigh I moved over to the open suitcase on my bed, beginning to filter through my belongings to recall what I had previously packed and what was left to do. I never brought much in the first place; just the essentials like jeans, various t-shirts of bands that didn’t exist anymore and undergarments. Of course, items like my phone charger and books would be left until the last minute; I’d need them before tomorrow afternoon when I’d leave for my flight.

I honestly dreaded the time I’d have to leave; I hated the frown on my raven best friend’s lips and Shane’s reaction. Admittedly, it surprised me slightly, I wasn’t expecting him to care that I was leaving; not after he spent so much time trying to ignore me.

Moving to sit down at the end of my bed I dropped my head in my hands, rubbing at the skin around my eyes. I had no idea what to do. Part of me desperately wanted to call my agent and tell him that I was taking leave, allowing me to spend some more time here with the people I was gradually beginning to call my friends. Yet, at the same time, I didn’t think they’d like that themselves - especially Drew - and I knew my Manager would never allow it. I was needed elsewhere now, taking multiple photos that I had no care for and changing my hair style and colour more times than I cared for. I groaned and lifted my head up; I was obviously thinking way too much into this. I can come back whenever I liked.

A small knock on the door interrupted my inner battle and I sniffled, standing. I called to the knocker before turning my back to the door, deciding to continue packing away my belongings.

“H-Hi, Kier.” I heard, the familiar voice causing my heart to beat faster in my chest and I turned to greet him, a wide smile forming quickly as our eyes met.

“Hey, Shane.” I greeted him, ushering him further into the room with my hand and he complied, closing the door gently shut behind him. “You doing okay?” It was a regular question I seemed to ask now; I’m not entirely sure why. He just seems like a vulnerable guy and I wanted to make sure he was safe at all times.

“Y-Yeah…” He mumbled softly, almost a whisper while he shuffled closer to me, peering around my form to take a glance at the suitcase. “I-I was j-just wondering… y-you know, if you wanted any help..” He continued, gesturing to my case with the nod of his head.

The smile never left my face as I nodded, beaming at Shane. My nods were gentle as I shuffled to the side, allowing Shane to move beside me and I heard a small gasp, causing my eyebrows to raise in confusion.

“D-Do you not know how to fold?!” I heard the blond question me, and I shrugged in response. However, my cheeks felt significantly warmer as I inwardly cursed myself to appearing like such a slob to him. “C’mere…” He mumbled, beginning to take all my clothes out of my bag and starting to repack them; this time, neatly.

“Shane, it’s fine.” I told him sternly, not wanting him to have to do so much for me. I felt so useless beside him. “They’re just my old shirts.”

“I-I don’t want you wearing creased shirts f-for the sake of being t-too lazy to fold.” Shane replied softly, giving me a slightly more confident smile before turning back to the job at hand.

I nodded, giggling slightly at his kindness before moving over to the other side of the room in silence to collect my on flight entertainment, such as my DVD’s and CD’s. The room fell into silence as we worked and I couldn’t help but to glance over at the man on occasion. He was so unlike anyone I’d ever met; Kind, Sweet, but Mysterious.. I had no idea what he was thinking at any given time, and I had no thought of what made him the way he was. There was obviously multiple secrets locked up inside that I desperately wanted to figure them out, or hear them from the man himself, but I knew that wouldn’t happen. Shane didn’t know me enough and there was no point in starting now, not now that I was leaving.

Taking a deep breath I moved back over to my case, grabbing the backpack from under my bed and placing my discs inside.

“Shane?” I broke the silence with a gentle mumble, turning my head to look over at the male.

“Y-Yes?” He replied almost immediately, mirroring my body language.

I pierced my lips together in thought, trying to find the courage to tell him exactly how much I admired him before it was too late. “I… I really don’t want to leave.” I couldn’t do it. There was no point anyway.

Shane sighed, nodding gently and moved a shaky hand to tuck his fringe behind his ear, revealing his beautiful shining eyes. “I-Is there no way of y-you being able to stay? E-Even for a little while longer?” He asked, sucking his lower lip in between his teeth.

I shook my head, it falling forward in a disheartened manner. “No… I’m needed back at home now.”

Hearing Shane take a deep breath I felt him push apart my arms to wrap his own around my waist, pulling me into a weak hug. I couldn’t help but allow my cheeks to deepen into a harsh red; his arms were around me. He was touching me willingly. A sense of pride for the timid man filled me and I returned the sweet gesture, more tightly than he did.

“I-I’ll miss you..” I heard him mumble and I smiled, returning those words only minutes later.

I couldn’t tell you how long we were locked in that embrace, but I knew it was nowhere near long enough for me. He was the one to break it, as expected, but that was okay, because I knew he wanted me around, and I knew he was feeling the same as I was about my departure.

“C-C’mon.. W-We need to finish this..” He mumbled, and I saw his cheeks almost the same colour as my own, settling my embarrassment slightly.

“I guess…” I merely replied in a sad tone.

The feeling of his eyes on my form caused my cheeks to continue being such a harsh tone, but I couldn’t help but meet his gaze when I heard his musical chuckles echo around the room.

“What’s funny?” I asked, feeling slightly uncomfortable.

“Y-Your makeup I-is messed up..” He replied, pointing to my eyes.

I whined, beginning to search for makeup wipes; they always seemed to go missing. “Just when I thought I couldn’t be any more embarrassing..” I groaned, beginning to wipe my eyes, facing away from Shane. As I cleaned off my eyeliner and shadow I heard more shuffling heading towards me and soon I felt a cold, shaky hand pull the wipe from my grasp.

“I-It’s not embarrassing..” Shane mumbled, wiping the makeup away for me. “D-Don’t be silly…”

“You were laughing.” I immediately responded, biting my lip at the feeling of his gentle touch.

“Y-You’re a model; I-It’s weird seeing you like that.” He replied, a soft giggle following his words.

“I am human, you know.”

“Y-You could’ve fooled me.”
