Chapter 6 Fear

It had been weeks and Camila and I were just in talking terms not anything else.But every time I was lucky enough to be in her office alone with her I could stare endlessly at her lips not worrying about who was looking,not even her because she couldn't even look me in the eyes when we were alone,

Regardless of all my feelings for Camila I still had been talking to Victoria,we had decided to be friends, and if things were to progress again then that would be a different story.

"Lauren mija finally you come and visit us again"

"I'm sorry I've been so busy in the office "

"It's okay but you and Camila are doing such a great job"

"Yeah we get along well,"

"I'm glad usually people struggle to work with Camila she's so straight forward"

"I like that about her"my dad interjected

"You do but many others don't Mike"

"Ahh doesn't matter my little girl can handle anything"

"Yeah even being away from her handsome boyfriend for so long"

"Right,Ed Im going to see him this weekend actually and we are in constant talk so don't worry"

"Keep him busy but with work while you're gone Lauren you don't want him focusing on any other woman"talking about Edward like this made me cringe,I had completely forgotten that I had a relationship with him,

The one I really was nervous about seeing again was Victoria, I knew I had to be going to the east coast soon for work but I had been dreading it as well.

It was the last day in the office before having to go to New York and Camila had been a bit friendlier these few days.

"Lauren,there's been a change of plans " the smaller one said looking at me seriously

"What's up ?whats changing?"

"The New York trip"

"Do you not want me to go?"

"No it's not that, the contractors want to meet with both of us so I'll be going with you"I didn't know if to be excited or worried,but why should I worry of Camila meeting Victoria if she didn't want anything to do with me romantically anyway,

"Okay that's fine, that way we can finish sooner,I have some unfinished business that I've been meeting to get to"

"Mhm actual business or personal business?"

"A little of both, I do need your help with Ed though,my parents keep asking me about him I just don't know how to tell them we "ended" I said really needing this to end

"Well we can figure it out Lauren"she said placing her hand on my arm

"Yeah Im sure we will"I replied trying not to get too excited having these talks with Camila "Well I have to go pack I'll see you at the airport?"

"If you want uhm we can go in my car?"she said offering with a mild smile

"That sounds good,maybe you forgot but I live a couple doors down from you ,maybe  you can be my alarm?"

"Sure I'll wake you up Jáuregui " she said chuckling,maybe she could just sleep next to me and wake me up that way but I didn't want to cross the line,maybe just not yet, "have a goodnight Camz"

"Goodnight Lauren"
