Chapter 36 Find my heart

I placed the second rose in a box where I had left the other one from yesterday.It was late and Lucy was having another late shoot.I decided to go home alone this time and rest.I really didn't like over thinking but that's all I had been doing lately.I knew things were sort of rushed and unexpected with Lucy yet she was slowing down the process.She was being realistic and if I was  being  honest with myself I would do anything to forget Camila even when it meant jumping into something else when I knew I shouldn't.It was the only way.

"So I'm almost done do you want to come over after ?"Lucy asked as we FaceTimed on her break

"I'm really tired actually,maybe tomorrow?"I said as I drank a cup of wine

"Mhm Alright i guess I'll have to waste my kisses on someone else"she said smirking

"Don't you dare"I replied looking at her making a mad face

"You know I won't I'll see you in the morning?"

"Yeah ofcourse,good night"

"Good night"replied the model

I sat on my couch almost contemplating all that was happening.California had me in a crazy ride just months ago I was in a serious relationship in a stable setting,well what I thought was stable.Now I was over here doing things I never expected to do good and bad.

There was a knock on my door and I smiled thinking Lucy came over regardless.I opened the door but they weren't the brown eyes I thought I would see.

"I uhm brought you some food to thank you for earlier."she said not giving up her eye contact

"Mhm It's a bit late to eat but-"

"It's platanitos, home made"

"Home made by you?"

"Yeah I uhm hope they aren't too bad"she said looking down finally as she waited at my door

"Uhm Well, come in we Can try them together?"

"Are you sure?"she said looking up at me again

"Yeah I am if you poisoned these I don't want to go down alone."I said chuckling

"I wouldn't poison you, not right now at least"she said laughing

"I hope not just remind me not to eat anything from you after this month."I said smiling as I placed the plate on the table counter and we both sat on the high chairs.

"Mhm Well i doubt I'll give cooking a try for a while if you don't like these."she said waiting as I bit into the plátanito

I made a face almost gagging to see her reaction.

"Shit they're that bad?"she looking at me scared

"Try them for yourself"I said moving the plate over to her as I continued to eat the platanito

"They aren't too bad Lauren"she said eating a piece

"I know I was just playing with you"

"You scared me, my abuelita would've been disappointed"

"You would've disappointed  all of Cuba."I said laughing

"Less scary than disappointing you"she said looking up  at me and I nearly choked

"You, uhm-"before I could think of something to say she interjected

"I have Lauren, and from the bottom of my heart I truly am sorry and it's a big regret how I dropped to that level,just as a person, I feel like it was shitty of me to ask you to come out here and then be the cause of you leaving."
