CHAPTER 27

"You burnt the armory down?!" Jonathan yelled. As the pack members doused the remaining embers

"In our defense, this was actually your fault." Tracy said with a glare, standing akimbo with her hands on her hips.

"MY FAULT?!" Jonathan thundered his face turning as darker than a comedy club presenting Darwin Awards in a funeral home.

All the wolves present flinched and started backing away. Jack grabbed Carla's hand and tugged at her to leave. At first Carla resisted, but seeing her friend she knew it was best to leave them to fight it out. Gideon also left dragging Firelight, who had "helped" light the fire in the first place, with him.

Tracy looked unperturbed and annoyed, "Yes your fault. If you hadn't been such a manwhoring asshat then I wouldn't have had to burn your disease ridden, crab infested mattress!"

"You burnt my mattress too?!" Jonathan shouted lividly, "How and why the fuck did burn my mattress?"

"Firelight showed me how to create fire from a light ball." Tracy said with a shrug, " the lighter fluid was unnecessary and a bit excessive. Hence the now torched armory."

Jonathan growled and grabbed her neck, firmly but gently. The heat between them was explosive but instead of pushing them apart drew them painfully together. Jonathan wanted no more than to grab his mate, yank her pants down and take her against the unburnt side of the now smoldering building right after he spanked her beautifully curvy ass a bright red. Tracy felt confused as Jonathan's gaze went from anger to lust and immediately smelled his arousal which triggered her own.

She bit her lip in nervous anticipation as Jonathan stepped closer. He leaned down and lightly brushed his nose against her skin as he breathed in her scent. Tracy moaned at the sensation. The kiss that followed burned hotter than the flames. The sudden pop of a weakened wooden plank cracking from the pressure, snapped both of them from their passion induced trance.

A light gust blew the smell of smoke and ash toward them, stinging their eyes for a moment. It brought back the reason that they were there to Tracy. Her gaze became uncertain and her desire dampened. Jonathan, drew back, stared for a moment in her eyes before muttering, "I can't," and walked away.

Tracy took a deep breath trying to calm her racing heart.

"Tracy?" Carla called out concerned as she walked up, "Whoa, smells like- he didn't um... ya'll didn't... you know?"

"What?" Tracy asked confused as Carla lifted a brow, "Oh. Oooh nooo. Nothing happened!"

"Really? No sex? Damn." Carla said crossing her arms, "I'm starting to think the author is doing this on purpose."

"Maybe she doesn't want a lot of loose ends that'll get lost after 'the deed.' OR she could have forgotten where she was going with this and is now stalling." Tracy suggested.

(Author's Note: When writing this, I had taken a 2 month break and really did forget what I was doing. Besides first time is supposed to special not against the side of a smoldering building. Let's have a little class).

Carla sighed, "Well she better hurry up and wrap things up because people are getting impatient and we have a war to prepare for."

Author: Fine! We'll go somewhere else. Dang characters are so demanding. And this war isn't going to be happening for another couple of books so chillax.

The grey walled room was cold and unwelcoming, nine others rushed to their assigned booths. The last visitor was noticeably reluctant. Jordan Baines completely hid the nervousness he felt as he walked forward with a confidence that he did not feel. He sat in the last booth facing the man he had not seen in 20 years. Jackson looked older but still youthful, as typical for werewolves, his eyes were cold and hollow, both men picked up the black phones hanging on the hooks of the walls next to the window.

"When did my father die?" Jackson asked with such indifference that he could have been inquiring after the weather.

"He's still alive and well." Jordan said with shame remembering how close they were and the disappointment and sadness on their father's face when Jackson was banished. Yet another sin at his door, try to fix one and there's more, Jordan thought.

"Then why are you here? You're a bit late on the gloating. My prison sentence is almost over and I don't give a shit either way."

Jordan didn't quite know what to say, "You're daughter, Carla, is now a pack member."

Jackson laughed without mirth, "I heard she was an Omega." his deep voice said mockingly knowing that his younger half brother would not be kind to his daughter.

"Not anymore." Jordan said uncomfortably, "I was wrong about a lot of things."

Jackson started to laugh coldly, his eyes dark with disgust and hate, "So what? Why are you here? To say sorry? To tell me you found Jesus. I don't give a shit about your bitch ass! You had everything! A loving mother, the born right to Beta position, the best of everything. But it wasn't enough for your ass. No, you had to have my mate too."

"I never slept with your mate. She was in a deep sleep and didn't even realize that I was even in the room. I-" Jordan swallowed the lump in his throat, "I staged it."

With that confession, Jackson stood to his full height of 6 foot 9 inches and busted the partition glass with his fist and grabbed Jordan by the neck. Guards rushed forward but he shoved them away like gnats. Growling he pulled Jordan forward until they were face to face. "You took away my life, my pack, my respect, my father's love, and most importantly my mate." pulling his squirming victim closer before growling, "I heard you have a second chance mate. A special gift granted to only a very few. Love her well, little brother, because I'm about to return the favor you did to me."

Jackson threw him against the wall with enough force that he went straight through. More guards came, batons out and tasers at the ready. Jackson went away quietly not even bothering to look back. Jordan picked himself up and left as quickly as he could.

What do ya'll think of the brothers?

Jordan?

Jackson?
