CHAPTER 47

Isiah could not give location of "Lucy" or any other information about her or it. The alias could refer not only to a person but also an inanimate object. He allowed Tracy to view and confirm everything that he had seen. Using her powers to "see" everything from the journal's perspective, her vision ended after Isiah handed the journal wrapped in a sack to a figure dressed in black moments before he was captured and imprisoned. Trying to see beyond or before Isiah's contact with the book was impossible.

Gideon was preparing to leave. He had duties to fulfill within his coven. Given that Isiah was an experienced vampire warrior, if a couple of decades out of practice, he could continue with training since he had been pardoned. In addition to Tracy, Isiah agreed to assist in Cade's training as well.

Tracy, Carla, Jack, Cade, Jonathan's father, Erik, and some others were gathered in one of the conference rooms next to Jonathan's office. Jonathan was going to inform them of the reason behind Councilman Grey's visit. Tracy asked Cade to find Isiah and let him know about the meeting.

Cade used his vampire speed to reach Isiah's room quickly. However the door was cracked and Gideon's voice made him pause.

"I don't care what you have to do. Protect Tracy no matter what, even if it cost your very life, or I swear the tortures of your imprisonment will not hold a candle to the pain I will inflict." The darkness in Gideon's voice poured into Cade's head chilling him to the bone.

"Life and death are in the hands of the Creator." Isiah replied calmly, "Even for the sake of your Eternal One, I cannot interfere with Fate. Tracy will be safe but she is coming to a part of the journey that only a chosen few can follow. That much I know."

There was a moment of silence before Gideon spoke once again, "One more thing, as much as Tracy wants to save everyone. She can't. Too much is at stake. Do NOT allow her to interfere with Cade's love life or it will catch too much attention from both the Vampire Royals and the Werewolf Council. Already a Council member has visited and the consequences of change are knocking at their door."

Cade swallowed hard as he thought about his love. Nothing would keep her from him. It might be a waiting game if Tracy couldn't help them but he would wait for an eternity if he had to just so that she would be in his arms. Composing himself, he decided to make his presence known.

The knocks sounded loudly in the narrow hall. Isiah bid him to enter. "Tracy sent me to come find you. They're having a meeting." Cade said from the doorway.

"We'll be down in a moment." Isiah said.

Cade turned but Gideon's voice stopped him, "Via Silentium."

Via Silentium, a vampire's code of silence. Over the centuries, a vampire was expected to discover secrets those secrets however would be carried until they turned to dust. To break silence, once Via Silentium was evoked, would carry severe consequences.

Cade nodded and left.

Jonathan briefed everyone on the Council Grey's visit.

"So what happens now?" Tracy asked her mate.

"For now nothing. You and I will have to travel to the Council Hall to speak to the Council concerning these matters. Isiah, Cade, and Elder Rameeta will travel with us. More than likely Midway Pack Alpha will be there."

"I'll come with you," Jack said.

"You mean 'we'll'" Carla interjected.

"Absolutely not." Jack argued, "I'm not allowing my mate to go on a potentially dangerous mission."
