Final Chapter 65 (Short and Disturbing)
Rogue Ranch
The air was unnaturally chilled, Dameon saw his people shiver with dread. Tiffany pushed closer to his side in fear. Determined not to show weakness, he ignored the cold and focused on the unwanted visitors.
"Lord Mallory to what do I owe this unwanted surprise?" he asked rudely.
Lord Mallory, head of the Diamondback Coven, was a sneaky cunning snake that was forever lusting for power. He stood at the skinny hunched height of 5'8" and was a true representation of a child's nightmare. Pale skin pulled tightly over prominent cheekbone looked as if it would tear as his face split into a horrifying yellow grin.
"King Dameon Wilde." the vampire bowed mockingly as he spoke with a slight hiss to his speech, "we have been made aware that you have had several visits from a legendary figure known as the Protector."
"We?" Dameon asked as he took in the appearance of the stranger. Dressed in Middle Eastern garb, he was about average height and at first seemed unassuming. But then when you catch sight of his eyes, you see the blank stare of death. His gaze feels as though you've been pulled into a trance and he's in your mind dissecting every piece of your soul. The coldness emanated from his very being and fear worked it's icy tentacles up the Rogue King's spine. Lord Mallory's voice brought Dameon back to reality.
"This is Prince Gairim Manassah."
"Prince Grim." Dameon interrupted, stunned that this person was the dreaded Royal that had been guilty of gruesome and horrifying acts that even his own men revolted.
The prince smiled, "Tell the Protector that this is just the beginning."
In a flash of movement and a spray of warm blood, Dameon looked down to see the still beating heart of his mate in the hands of the monster.

What?! Whhhyyyyy??? That was not happy! I swear there is something wrong with the creative side of my brain. I guess when you don't use it enough it gets dark... ha! Double pun.
