Marcy's POV

"You son of a bitch! You messed up my fucking hair!" I could hear the shrilling and obnoxious voice of that ghetto hood rat, Jasmine, yelling from the backyard. There was something about that woman that really turned me off. She acted like her shit didn't stink. Like she was the queen of Sheba. Newsflash bitch, you'll never compare to me and I'm here to knock you down a few pegs. I rolled my eyes at the thought of her.

Following the sound of Jasmine's repulsive voice, I was curious to see who she was complaining about. I craned my neck and peered out of the glass door leading out to the pool area. My heart sunk to the bottom of my stomach at the sight of Jaxon playing with a strand of Jasmine's hair. I hated the fact that he seemed so relaxed when touching her.

Watching them without words or context, what they were doing could've easily been misconstrued. If I didn't know Jaxon, I would've thought he was a gentle lover touching his woman lovingly. The sight of them made my stomach turn. Jaxon was my man. And even if we didn't put a label on it, the least Jasmine could do was respect what Jaxon and I did have. I mean, come on.... if he didn't want me then why bring me to meet his parents?

The more I watched, the more I wanted to physically hurl. I began to step back because I literally couldn't watch anymore of what was happening. Peeling my eyes away from the scene unfolding in front of me, I noticed a cellphone lying on the counter. I picked it up out of curiosity. I knew right off the bat it wasn't Jaxon's phone so I assumed it might have been Jasmines. As soon as I lifted the phone, the phone was already unlocked with the home screen on full display. The home screen confirmed it was Jasmine's phone since it had a photo of her wearing her bushy untamed hair out. Someone really needed to tell her that she needed to tame that shit because it really wasn't cute.

As I perused through the phone, I couldn't help but think that today was my lucky day. Jasmine's phone didn't have a time out on it that automatically locked the screen after being idle. And apparently she was distracted enough to not only leave her phone unattended, but to leave it unlocked.

Butterflies fluttered in my stomach at this opportunity. The first thing I did with the phone was swipe to her text messages. I needed to see the communication she had with Jaxon and confirm that I wasn't going crazy. He was probably telling her one thing while telling me another. As I scanned each thread, I was shocked when I found only one thread with him in it. And to top it off, his sister Megan, was also in the thread where they were all trying to help plan a birthday gift for their mom last year. Hmmmm.... I know they have something going on but why wouldn't they have texts to prove it?

I continued to peruse through her text messages and that's when I saw the name Darnell. I opened the thread and it was obvious that this man was either in love with her or he was obsessed. Whatever it was, I took down his number. I was a woman who works with every opportunity that is given to me. Darnell could prove to be very useful in the near future.

After I combed through the rest of her phone, including her photos, I couldn't help but smile. I sent a few pictures to myself just in case. I then went ahead and changed the passwords on all her social media so that I could readily access everything. Jasmine was going to regret ever disrespecting me. I smiled to myself inwardly.

Very short chapter but what do you think Marcy is going to day with all this information? Remember Jasmine's entire lively hood is social media.
