Ch. 30

Lyrical's POV

I hear the words that are coming out of his mouth but they aren't processing as I think about what I'm doing or what I'm about to do and if I am making a bad decision or not.

I feel a tap on my shoulder cutting my thoughts short. I blink up at him waiting for him to speak.

"Did you hear anything I said?" He asks with a questioning look yet a smile still on his face.

"Yes" I answer a little too quickly.

"Yeah... sure" he sarcastically says laughing lightly "anyways I was saying now is I good time to do that thing we were talking about"

I then remembered what he was talking about. I look over Ryder seeing him look at everyone with an impassive face.

"I don't know if-" I was cut off by him whispering now and next thing I know I felt warm lips on top of mine which obviously belonged to Xander

I kissed back. I felt eyes burning into my skull just like I did at the house. I had no doubt that they belonged to Ryder. After about 10 seconds I pulled away to breathe.

It felt like I never kissed him. There was no tingles no butterflies I didn't feel like world stopped like I did with Ryder. That's how I know there was and could never be anything between him and I and I'm pretty sure he knows that because we already went over this.

"Do you think he will get overly jealous" Xander asks looking at Ryder

I follow his eyes and to see Ryder downing a cup of punch. He shouldn't drink too much he most likely knows it's spiked and he shouldn't get drunk here.

"I don't know but I feel horrible maybe.... maybe we should strip this whole thing" I say looking up at him with pleading eyes

"Yeah maybe your right... I thought I wanted to get back at him but that's just a waste of time ya know" he says with a shrug

"But we can still be friends and hang out and stuff and we will still come to your parents party/ dinner thingy" I chuckle removing my arms from around his neck

"Definitely your like another one of my close friends along with everyone else" he says giving me a quick reassuring hug

"You too" I look back at Ryder to see him head down "I shouldn't be doing that to him if someone isn't into me I can't guilt them or trick them into doing so... it's not right"

"True but don't worry you'll find someone even if it isn't him" he replies as we walk back to the table

By the end of the night Ryder hasn't really said anything to me or Xander, Riley is ready to get out of here so he can be up Holden and Ashley is sloppily drink some how.

"Xander do you want us to drop you at your house or...?" Alex asks as we all meet by the door

"Oh uh my car is there so I'll just go to your guys house and drive home from there" he replied looking exhausted

"Okay and um Ryder what about Ashley... her at is also at the house but she is no shape to drive herself home" Riley says eyeing Ashley carefully

"Yeah and there is no way in hell she is staying at the house id probably kill her in her sleep" Athena says rolling her eyes also looking at Ashley

"She will come with us to our house I'll drive her back to her place but can one of you drive behind us so that I don't have to walk all the way back" he says grabbing Ashly's arm so that she doesn't wonder off
