Ch. 36

Lyrical's POV

It's finally here it's time. I can't believe I'm actually about to graduate and get out of this hell hole. It's like a dream come true... que the fake tears.

"You ready?" Ryder asks beside me as we get closer to my name.

I let out a nervous sigh and look up at him "as ready as I'll ever be"

He grabs my now healed hand and wraps his fingers with mine giving me some sort of reassurance. My name is called and i freeze my brain going wild.

All I have to do is walk this stage and everything is done. The day I have wanted for so ling is finally here.

I nudge to my shoulder gets me out of my trance. I walk towards him as the clapping continues my head is down looking at my white heels. I reach the principal shaking his hand and taking my diploma.

I walk back and at that moment it felt like a huge weight was lifted off of my shoulders. I'm done with it.

"Congratulations" he whispers looking down at me. I look back up and him and smile.

"YES!" Ryder tells running up to me. We hug for a minute before letting go

"It feels good doesn't it" I ask with a big smile and he nods.

"You look beautiful by the way" he mentions giving me a genuine smile. My heart starts racing and I shake me head

"Thank you but you can't say that... say pretty" I suggest laughing he nods understanding

"Come on let's go" I say walking over to my dad and everyone with balloons

"Congratulations baby" my dad says hugging and kissing me on the head

"Congratulations Lyrical" Rachael says giving me a tight hug

"Thank you guys it means a lot" I says smiling at them and the kids.

"Wait Ryder where are you going here" my dad stops him as he tried wiry walking off

"5 balloons for lyrical" Rachael says

"5 balloons for Ryder" my dad says

"Flowers for lyrical"

"I'm pretty sure you didn't want flowers" my dad laughs Ryder joining

"3 money and candy necklaces for lyrical"

My head snaps over to my dad "how come her gets 5 and I get 3?"

My dad shakes his head at my whining "because you got flowers"

"1 envelope for you and 1 envelope for you" Rachael says handing each of us an envelope

"You guys didn't have to do this" Ryder says shaking his head

"You took our daughter and son in when she basically had nothing and had a really hard life you understood her... trust me what I'm doing now for you isn't even enough for what you've done for them" my data says looking at him directly in the eyes "thank you"
