CHAPTER 27: How to beat a bitch? Be THE bitch

After confronting Joshua, it is finally time to build my broken relationship with my brother. I asked him about my brother's whereabouts. I'm going to make sure that when I go back to the future, I won't be seeing my brother behind bars.

Joshua was hesitant to tell me what Jay has been doing for the past few days but I was persistent. He soon gave in and told me where he's at.

Somehow, I ended up standing outside my condo. I never stepped back into this building ever since the fire accident happened because it'll remind me how pissed I am towards my brother.

I expected Jay to be flirting with Nadia at a nearby cafe but to my surprise, he apparently spends most of his free time at the condo.

I opened the door and stepped inside the condo. I looked around and there was no trace of the fire accident. The walls were painted in pastel and my furniture are hid inside my room.

I caught Jay looking outside the window. He was talking to someone thru his phone.

"So, you're saying is that I can't loan at your bank because I'm unemployed?" He furiously asked. "Who even made that kind of rule anyway?"

I couldn't help but smile at him. There's no sane bank manager would allow an unemployed person to loan money at the bank and yet he asked for a loan anyway.

Jay has been fixing my condo for the past few days. He's been draining his savings just to fix it. Renovating my condo was supposed to be a secret between Jay and Joshua because they wanted to surprise me but since I persuaded Joshua on telling me the truth, I finally know that Jay would go beyond his limit just to fix my relationship with him.

When the building owner mentioned that I should move out because my condo is going to be renovated, I never thought that it includes Jay. Actually, he's the only one renovating my place.

"Other banks won't allow me to loan too?" Jay sounded surprised. "Isn't that being unfair?"

I couldn't help but laugh at him. Everyone thought that I'm the persistent one but I guess they haven't met my twin brother yet.

Jay realized that I'm around and he hurriedly hung up his phone.

"You know, our condo has fire insurance." I said. "We can just ask money from our insurance company."

"Oh..." He looked dumbfounded. "I didn't think of that."

We were awkwardly standing at a far distance between each other. Jay has no idea what happened to him in the future. He's only aware that I'm pissed at him for setting the arcade machine on fire. As I can recall, we were about to fix our relationship but Nadia decided to frame us for drug possession.

This time, I'm making sure that Nadia won't do an intervention.

"You know, we can fix the condo together." I said. Jay looked at me in disbelief. He probably thought he's just hearing things. "We can also buy new furniture online because who the hell goes shopping at a mall nowadays?"

"Aren't you supposed to be...mad?" Jay looked puzzled right now and I couldn't help but laugh at him. "By any chances, are you bipolar?"

"I don't think that I have the right to be mad at your right now." I apologetically said. "I can't stay mad at my own brother."

"Right..." Jay shrugged. He really looked taken aback. "Are you sure you're my sister?"

"Are you really asking me if I'm your sister?" I felt so attacked right now. "We literally came out from the same womb!"
